I've come across a couple of Ultima posts in browsing the forums, and I wondered what people thought of the various console conversions and spin-offs? The first game that I ever owned (as opposed to pirated copies of games that seemed to come with our Apple IIc) was the Apple II version of Ultima IV. Since then I've fallen in love with the Master System version of the same game and completed all the PC games (including spin-offs and expansions) since U4. I was horrendously disappointed with Ultima VII on SNES, and haven't really played any other console conversions. What do other people think?

So How Popular Was Ultima In Japan, Really?

I'm not sure, but Japan certainly received one conversion (SNES version of Savage Empire) that never made it offshore. I'd be interested to know.
