Good find.....Local Circuit City has it for $115 + Tax.....So this is a good deal. Although I will mention that I do own this scanner and just know that HP's scanning software is complete shit. I am not saying its bad scanning software, I am saying its horrible. The hardware is fine, I use Windows XP to scan and other then it not being able to skip numbers (1,3,5,7,9,11..etc) it works good.

With this scanner you could probably scan 10 magazines in about 3 days time, Anyone who can scan 10 magazines and submits them becomes a Premium Member for life also. (Honestly you could buy this scanner from BB/CC and scan 10 magazines and then return it within the 14 day return policy  )

To be honest, I wouldn't nesseceraly go for the cheapest one.

Just make sure you're getting a quality scanner so you won't regret it afterwards.

I have a flatbed Canon scanner myself(http://hardware.kelkoo.nl/b/a/sbs/115401/14322309.html) and I'm very happy with it, but I'm also extremely happy with the software it came with. (Photostudio 5.5)

There are probably better programs out there, but I'm getting very good results.

Mine is a fully manual one, so it takes a lot more time to scan the pages one by one, but then again I don't debind my magazines, so it's not a problem for me.
