2d Or 3d Games?

Which do you prefer: 2D or 3D games?

Your preference will probably depend on genre (i.e. you love 3D sports games but prefer 2D, side-scrolling platformers like oldschool Sonic & Mario). Nevertheless, on the whole, do you prefer 3D games over 2D ones?

I prefer 2D games for many reasons. 2D Fighters are my favourite type of game, and perhaps more importantly, it seems like all the attention that goes into movie-quality 3D rendering detracts from level design & game mechanics (the 3D Castlevanias are a perfect example of this).

I like them both,but they have to be of good wality and quite amusing

Personally I love both. 2D scrollers like Ninja Gaiden, Mario, Bionic Commando, etc. are still awesome today.

I think certain games are better on 2D just as other games are better on 3D. The best Castlevania games are 2D, same with Sonic. But some others are nice to see in 3D, I can't imagine a 2D Halo.
