I had to remove the mailing label with my old address from this so none of you could travel back in time and track down my 14 year old self and kill me or force me at gunpoint to learn the electric slide or something.

I can't get over how short these mags are.  I'm used to scanning Japanese mags where I'm elated if they're under 200 pages.  These things are only 76 pages long.  SEVENTY. SIX. PAGES.  I can do 3 of them in less time than it take to do one weekly issue of Famitsu.  Maybe even 4. 😂  And half of the pages are ads.
Must have been an easy life, writing for these things...

Prior to this issue, this magazine was called Game Player's PC Strategy Guide.  This is the first issue under the Game Players PC Entertainment title.   In 1994, it would change its name a final time to PC Gamer.

This issue marks the first time a ratings system was used in reviews.  Wanna see how Resident Evil 1.0 Alone in the Dark fared?  Check it out!

Another awesome mag from the golden age of PC gaming when PC games were PC Games, console games were console games, and never the twain did meet. A small blurb mentioning the upcoming release of a little shareware title called Doom signals big things to come just over the horizon...

Do you know why I love this magazine, and the first several years of PC Gamer (which shared the same staff)?  It's because the articles and reviews are written by intelligent professionals, so even reading about games I don't have the slightest interest in is a joy - something that sadly isn't all that common in video game journalism.

One of the very last issues of this mag (next-to-last, I think) before it was turned into PC Gamer.

I won't be uploading them here since the scans at RM are perfectly fine, but if anyone's interested, you can also download my scans of issues 2 and 3 here, which are of comparable quality to this one:

Again, the scans already here are good, but you may find certain aspects of mine preferable (or not).  They're higher resolution and in my opinion images joined across facing pages have been edited together more carefully.  But if such things aren't important to you, there's no real need to replace your existing copies.  I'm simply scanning the entire series (apart from #5 and #6, which I don't own), so they should all have a uniform quality.

This file has been edited and formatted to be viewed as a CBR using a dedicated CBR reader.  If you're using a PDF reader, such as Sumatra, it may not display correctly.

This file is ALREADY available at my Internet Archive account, so there's no need to upload it there again.

As for the rest of you, here's the latest issue of Computer Gaming World 2.0, complete with its Microsoft-purchased generic new title and Microsoft-purchased advertising section designed to look like articles (but thankfully (legally) labeled "special advertising section.")  Skip that part unless you're a complete tool like DOOMGUY2000

63 out of 104 pages had visual elements crossing from one page to the next.  So basically 60% of the mag had to be edited together as joins, then spilt back apart into separate pages.  Pain in the @$$ for me, but good for anyone who likes to read their mags in two-page view mode.
Also, a reminder that "Retromags recommended" Sumatra is one of the WORST choices of CBR reader you could be using (it's not really a CBR reader at all, it's a PDF reader that can open CBRs), so if you're using it, please be aware that some pages will not be displayed as they were intended.

This mag is printed at a smaller size than a typical A4 magazine.  It's been a couple of years since I tossed it out, so I'm not 100% positive, but I believe it's printed at A5 size, half the size of a normal mag.

Years ago someone PMed me here and asked if they could pay me to buy this mag and another from a used book website in Japan and scan them.  They were interested in the coverage of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood that featured in both.  I told them no, I didn't need any more mags to scan.
And then for some reason, I bought them both anyway, with my own money, and scanned them.  This is the first of the two.  If that person who wanted them hasn't already gotten them from where I first uploaded them, I hope they're still around to see this (I don't remember their name).
