Will Wii Sharing Be Possible?

I think i heard Wii will use sd memory cards. If so what would stop some very bad people from copying and shareing.

I think it will be like iTunes. Where what you download you can only play on the same hardware that has the same signature. But I guess just like you can take that off the iTunes music, eventually it will happen with games.

Although Nintendo has not released many details on how the Virtual Console on the Wii will work, I am sure that they have piracy concerns firmly in mind. If it's possible to get the ROM files that are downloaded from Nintendo off of the SD cards, there's sure to be some sort of DRM in place so that it will not play in other consoles.

That being said, I am sure that some crafty pirates will eventually figure out a way to play pirated ROMs on the Wii (although it may require unofficial firmware or a modded chipset).

It's going to happen regardless. In fact, I bet someone already figured it out. It's more a matter of if the user wants to spend the time and energy to commit the crime.

But hopefully, it allows some of the game freedoms that an iTunes or even XBox Live could afford, such as being able to authenticate on another Wii console (even if that meant only one console at a time).

Otherwise, the Virtual Console loses some luster in my book.

They should and I'm pretty sure they will. I was looking at the Mortal Kombat site and they were showing how they are going to be releasing and arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for XBox Live and they have an updated menu that shows "Play Arcade" and "Play XBox Live", so I'm assuming that means playing against an online opponent through Live.

Im sure it will be hacked every system out has been the xbox360 scene is starting to look really good. I am not a xbox fan at all but just saying its going to happen even if it takes as long as gamecube did it will happen.

Judging by the reactions from the E3 show, there's still some hidden hardware features that Nintendo hasn't talked about yet, so who knows what they still have up their sleeve!

As for the idea of playing roms in the Wii, I doubt we'll be doing that anytime soon, but it really depends on how interested the console hackers are for hacking the virtual console vs. getting the commercial games hacked first.

I certainly hope they have multiplayer/"live" capability with the virtual console too (as we do with kaillera), as it'd be nice to kick Sav2880's butt across the country at ExciteBike I'd almost bet on it being multiplayer, I think Nintendo wants to make sure they're on par with Xbox360 and the upcoming PS3 with online multiplayer capability, or else Nintendo will take a big knife in the heart to overlook such an important feature.

Heck with waiting for the Virtual Console for that, the sooner the better!
