  1. I'm way too busy scanning the 2000 mags in my collection and 100+ issues of Dreamcast Official Magazine (Japan) sent to me by Cuckooguy to deal with even more issues. And I'm still recovering from the rather large tax bill from the New Zealand Government for those mags to be in a position to afford postage costs shipping more mags out from Japan anyway. Looking forward to seeing them though
  2. I believe this is the reason why Imagine Publishing released their original digital issues of Retro Gamer, Games tm with placeholder images for the advertising material. There was some discussion of their forums regarding the fact that the advertising was a single print agreement with the advertisers advising on a per issue basis regarding ads they wanted to run across multiple issues. However, they must have changed their agreements as the digital issues released on iTunes etc and within the Readr app all contain the advertising material. That or they have taken legal advice which has altered the scenario around ownership rights. I'm guessing but maybe the release of digital copies of issues comes under the "back issues" scenario? In which case a digital issue is no different than providing a print copy? Dunno, but something has changed to the point where they and Future are releasing full monty issues rather than cut down versions like the old Xbox Official content only releases.

  5. I HAVE an A3 flatbed. I just can't be shagged scanning covers..... or anything really .... on the damned thing.
  6. Feel free to use cover scans from Kiwis.World as well. I'm way too busy scanning mags and running the site to contribute covers over and above the mags available on the site by and large, especially when I'd have to debind the mag to scan it anyway.
  7. Nintendo Dream issue 105 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy I'd upload the cover image but it seems the image feature on the site is fubared ......
  8. Nintendo Dream issue 97 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy

  10. The guy I have been dealing with, as far as I can tell, is the actual scanner and he was exceptionally clear about keeping his name off the interweb. He also gave me the name of the staff member he acquired the digital files from and I have no reason to doubt him. His scans are a little rough as he was pushing them out as fast as he could scan them. I've been editing the Gamers Republic issues before putting them online as I prefer mags a little more refined but heck, the fact I have every issue of Play, Gamers Republic and the Gamefan's is somewhat of a miracle to be honest, so I am stoked. Even if no-one else ever scans them at least they are available in eminently readable condition. Big high five to this dude IMHO.
  11. Nintendo Dream issue 93 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy
  12. I have been conversing with the guy who originally scanned them and he is keeping his head down. I've been releasing his issues of Play, especially the digital versions he obtained from a former employee of the publishing company but I am steering well clear of putting Gamefan online that's for sure.....
  13. Nintendo Dream issue 99 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy
  14. I obtained my fi-5650c off eBay for $200 + postage. It's always a risk but if you do get a good one you end up with A3 scanning for cheap.
  15. Dreamcast Official Magazine (Japan) issue 006 (1998/Vol.6) is now available thanks to Cuckooguy
  16. If you take a look at the download page on my website for this particular title you will see that early issues up to early 1991 are A4 format and will scan nicely in Snapscan. However, later issues in 1991 and onward adopted a wider format by approx 18mm and would look horrid unless scanned on an A3 scanner as essentially you would need to crop the page significantly to fit them though the scanner. Height is fine, width is not. I've overlaid an A4 issue over a later cover to show the difference. Hope that helps .....
  17. Nintendo Dream issue 100 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy
  18. Hiya, Issues on Kiwis.World are released using a seven rule UNLESS they are available in digital versions through legitimate channels in which case I will not release them regardless of their age. Generally, that means year 2009 issues or older are able to be released at this point in time so you should see Hyper issues up to 194 available as I upload them to Mediafire and add links to the site. Issues from 234 onward are available online from the publishers themselves so they will never be made available unless they are no longer available for purchase.
  19. I told you I couldn't make heads or tails of Japanese numbering schemes. Apart from a couple of English Nintendo magazines I don't think there's been a numbering system that crosses from one title to the next so I just used SegaRetro's numbering because they seem to have the issues in order. I think Cuckooguy sent me all bar one issue so I guess after I unpack all 8 boxes of mags I'll be able to advise how many I have to scan anyways.
  20. Nintendo Dream issue 96 is now available thanks to Cuckooguy
  21. Yeah, but SegaRetro have a nice list of issues in number order from 1 - 114 so I'm following that just because it's easy :) I'll try and make heads or tails of the weird numbering and include that in the quick description field for each issue. More interested in getting the mags scanned at this point in time ....
