Uploaded issue 6 https://archive.org/details/Gamest007198703
I already requested to fix the url since the uploaded file had an incorrect name
I was thinking to upload also some Neo Geo Freak issues just to keep things fresh and interesting
Gamest 200 and 260 online. I'll now start from the first gamest issue and proceed chronologically. They're in such a pristine shape that I feel kinda bad debinding them

thanks, I managed to find info on this page https://help.archive.org/hc/en-us/articles/360018818271-Internet-Archive-Metadata
currently I lost ownership of the file because I changed my mail address submitted a request on forum
I also haven't found a way to change the thumbnail to the front cover
I would like to do that, can you be more specific? I know how to add a custom field but I'm not sure sure how to do that
At the moment not, I would like to get out stuff as much as I can, if someone else wants to do that it's no problem
thanks! patreon page fixed

hope that the derive task will also produce a small pdf file
the tumblr images were quickly resized with paint without keeping proportions, they're just for show
edit: I'm an advanced member, wow!
Thanks, will do, however I set up the patreon just for fun, don’t expect to make anything out of it.
Impressions about the scan? I would like to here more comments before scanning other issues, meanwhile I’ll try to prepare a Neo Geo Freak
Checkpoint, an italian multiplatform magazines, 4 issues only. I found recently issue number 2 at my grandma’s house, was pretty sure it was thrown away
I created a tumblr and a twitter account connected
https://japanesemagazinesscansproject.tumblr.com/
https://twitter.com/JapaneseMagScan
Also set up a patreon page in case someone wants to donate https://www.patreon.com/japanese_magazines_scans_project
So far I've not yet started to spread the word, once I have a few scan uploaded I'll post on a couple more forum, this thread will serve as an headquarter/discussion place with fellow scanners
So it begins, I gave my first shot at scanning something. I opted for 600 dpi because why not :). Jpgs shouldn't be compressed.
Let me have your impressions.

I'm using the scansnap utility and it looks like it generates pdf and then extract the pages as single images. Is there any option to make it output jpgs natively?
Later I'll upload it to archive.org and from there anyone would be allowed to edit/reupload it as they please
I tried this with an hair dryer on a old prima guide I had around. The pages came off but they still had some glue residue on the edge. I’m doing something wrong? Would the glue damage an adf scanner?
Sorry to be nitpicking but this site is so great that I want it to become the MAME equivalent of printed media preservation: no compromise fidelity
However we can start worrying about missing stickers once all the other famitsu issues are uploaded
So I should check only magazines marked as uploaded? Can I assume that everything marked as preserved is good?
Another thing is how supplement inside the magazine are handled, I think the best option would bento have the, inside the magazine and replicate them also in the supplement sub categories like in EGM 31 for example
another thing, I took a look at two issues of famitsu scanned by you (43 and 169), I think a new tag like "need pages/improvement" would be more suitable since they're missing a few parts or have the stickers used on the map
