I am playing through the old Dragon Quest games right now. Also just found the PC versions of Ys complete and part VI and III. They are in Japanese because they did not get released over here but with a few translation patches I am playing them all and they are beautiful and fun to play but like all good old games they are hard as nails!!!!

I totally forgot about Go-Bots! Good one. I am such a fan of beat em ups that I believe any of these could have been converted into that genre as well.

I know everyone remembers watching "You Can't Do That On Television" but there were a lot of great shows on the Nickelodeon of times past. I used to watch David the Gnome, Danger Mouse and Nick Arcade. I am sure there are others that I don't remember but I know you guys will remember some that maybe I have not heard of before. So what is your favorite old show on the nickelodeon of past.

I used to watch this show all the time growing up. Good times. Sad to hear of his passing.

I chose the hat as well but was really disappointed with the choices.

There are quite a few games for the Wii that allow you to use the gamecube controller as an option to the classic controller. My gripe is that I feel that shelling out an extra $20 for a classic controller is not fair considering I already paid about $60 to get on regular controller and a nunchuck. I bought the arcade controller only to find out that it only worked with about half of the games and now it is just not supported at all. I like the classic controller but I believe Nintendo could come up with a better system at least. I feel like I have to have three or four different kinds of controllers to play the different games on the Wii. What are your thoughts?

The games themselves are easier but sometime with the 3-D it makes it harder to see where you are jumping or moving thus killing you over and over because it is a different perspective.

I just hope they will have a wii fit board for fat people. How the hell I am supposed to lose weight if the damn thing won't let me on it to begin with. Stupid skinny Japanese people. Seriously though, games are trying to look so real now but I think there will be a trend when a game looks like a game. Cell shaded graphics are still being modified and played with all the time. Look at the new Red Steel. Games don't have to look real to be cool and have good graphics. It takes a certain team to create games like this and I think the future of gaming will head in that direction at least for Nintendo.

I know that most t.v. or movie based games are crap, but there are so many that did not get made that could have been great. I think an A-Team game would have been cool. Or how about a game based on Thundarr the Barbarian? Let me know what you think would have been a good game. Of course I am talking about old movies or t.v. shows, we are in the retro game section. Thundercats anyone?

I used to love some of the manuals that came with the games but I always hated when they were in black and white and not color. What do you think? Or do you really care as long as the manual as the info you need to play the game.

Does anyone remember the NES Max. That was the coolest controller when it came out. I used one for years on my NES. Nintendo was always ahead when it came to controllers.

I grew up in the Atari 2600 and on era. I believe it is just like trying to understand why my grandfather likes Eddie Arnold music. You had to be there! The early 80's and 90's were a goldmine not just for games but television and toys as well. I think anyone growing up in this era was extremely lucky. I make sure my two daughters get their fair share of He-man and She-ra along with the all the old games I grew up with. My kids like the old games but I see a growing trend in young people that is disturbing. If their game doesn't look like a CG movie they think it sucks. In my day we had to use a little imagination when playing Pitfall on the 2600 in order to really get into the game. Even the old box art and instruction manuals were full of things we really did not see in the game but it brought us into the game even more. I will never accept that the generation now or future will ever be as good as the 80's.

Not my favorite castlevania but still good. I like that you have two choices for the main character.

The Wii or DS. The new Mario Bros. Wii game is 2D and looks awesome. Nintendo is the only company that will really allow 2D games on its systems.

Retro for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do enjoy some of the new titles though.

I have always loved Dragon Quest and the artwork for it but there are so many other games that have great artwork. I like the old Legend of Zelda artwork too. What are some of your favorites?

Everyone I have ever been in hates Nintendo. That is enough to make me stay away. I hate the whole "hardcore gamer" crap. I have been playing games since the days of pong. If anyone is hardcore it is me and if I want to play freaking Nintendo instead of all the fps that Sony and Microsoft keep shoving down our throats then I will. But if I hear one more employee of a Gamestop say that Nintendo is for kids or babies then I may mass murder two or three stores full of Gamestop employees.

I have this on DVD and still love it. I was a little surprised by how much bad language it had though...being aimed at kids.

Actually collecting the real carts is fun but most emulators now make the older games look even better. If you don't have the time or money emulators are your friend. I would never have been able to play the snes dragon quests translated without emulators.

I just found a 9 year old Sony Trinitron Monitor for free at a local doctor's office(they were going to throw it away). I hooked up my computer and started some emulators and they look better on the Sony then on my nice HP LCD monitor. Ha!!!!! I love it!!!

The absolute best anime or any movies for that matter are made by Miyazaki. My favorite is Howl's Moving Castle. The music is awesome as usual but the story is so unique and the characters are all very interesting.
