  1. Alright, I was going easy on you this time. Next time, I'll pull out the bigger guns. *huggles* Areala
  2. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!! C'mon into my domain, ladies and gents, and let's talk about the best durn console ever crafted by human hands (that's the Super NES for those of you who hold differences of opinion with me). *huggles* Areala
  3. This forum's default view is set to the way the normal forum operates: topics are listed and sorted by posting order, and the most recent posts are at the top. While this makes it simple to keep up with updates when you've been browsing for a while, it makes it a bit hard to locate a specific game in the database without resorting to the Search function time after time. To remedy this, scroll down to the bottom of the page within the forum and check out the lower-right corner of the screen. Where it says: "Order: Last Post", click on the drop-down menu and change it to "Order: Topic Title". Then change the box next to it from "Z-A" to "A-Z" and click the "Go" button. The forum will sort itself into alphabetical order by game title, which should make locating a specific game very simple, especially if you aren't sure exactly how to spell it. Under the current naming scheme for the forum, game titles starting with "A", "An", or "The" will be listed instead by the next word in the title. For instance, "The Combatribes" will be found under "Combatribes, The" and not "The Combatribes". This should help prevent confusion and increase the general readability of the forums. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! *huggles* Areala
  4. Well...I just checked the date and it is not April 1st, so I assume that they are serious. My only thought is, anything below 60% in most schools is considered an F. So, 50% or 0%, it's still an F. Why should this matter to them? Because they MIGHT score well enough on the tests and final to bring up a grade of 50% but not a grade of 0? I don't get it. Your parents will be (or at least SHOULD be) upset over a grade of F whether it's counted as 50% or lower. So, sorry about you, school in another state, but to borrow liberally from a prevailing internet meme...SCHOOL FAIL. *facepalm* Areala
  5. Love it or loathe it, Survival Horror is here to stay. I'm curious to know peoples' views on this genre, what your favorite entries were, and which games or companies dropped the ball in your opinions. *huggles* Areala
  6. Combatribes in action on the SNES. Note that in keeping with Nintendo's more family-friendly image when it was released, all the blood from the arcade version was removed. *huggles* Areala
  7. The demo suffered from an awful lot of flaws, especially if you didn't have a real SoundBlaster card in your machine if I recall correctly. DOSBox does such a great job of emulating it now, though, and the 2.13 patch fixes enough of the bugs to render it playable (with fairly frequent saves, naturally). Morrowind is RPG perfection, but Daggerfall came before, and it made me fall in love with the Elder Scrolls games and their open-ended sandbox world.
  8. I'm with you all the way, Mattapooh. After the SNES, the Zelda games on the home systems just started to lose the charm and magic they had. Fortunately, the 2D entries on the GB, GBC and GBA more than made up for this problem; Link's Awakening is just a fabulous game in every respect.
  9. Behold! Another ad for Out of This World has been uncovered! *huggles* Areala
  10. Retromags Presents! The Combatribes For the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Do you have other variations of this advertisement? Feel free to submit them in this thread! Conversations about this game or advertisement are also welcome in this thread
  11. No...but it meant that you were risking demotion.

  13. Sure, it'll rob you of 40 minutes of your life, but check out this no-death run on Maniac difficulty level. Sick, I tell ya. *huggles* Areala
  14. Darius Twin was a great side-scrolling shooter in the vein of Gradius, R-Type and the like. Those who want to know what all the fuss was about can check out this three-part playthrough. Part One: Part Two: Part Three: *huggles* Areala
  15. Enjoy some footage of Desert Strike in action. The "<Area Name> Strike" series was probably one of EA's most successful non-sports franchises during the 16-bit era; it's just plain fun. *huggles* Areala
  16. I had never seen or played this game before, and I was actually beginning to wonder if it was ever released, but a quick trip around the 'Net confirmed that it actually does exist. Here's some video footage of it in action. Looks like it plays similar to the game "Star Raiders" on the Atari 2600. I try my best to find videos without narration when possible so that you can hear the sound of the game more clearly, but this one has a voice-over track. My apologies. *huggles* Areala
  17. Wait a bloody minute here... Are you telling me that Sub-Zero's gimped SNES fatality is, in any way, shape or form superior to the single best fatality ever conceived in the series, the spine-rip? Please tell me that I am terribly confused and you didn't mean what it sounded like you meant.
  18. I have both versions of this guide. The original was printed in 1993, and included complete walkthroughs for the original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II games on the NES which made it 240 pages long. The 1996 reprint has the sword & shield cover graphics and includes information on Link's Awakening, but omits the information on the two NES Zelda games which drops its page count to 213 pages. That should answer all questions, but if there are any more, feel free to ask. They're within easy reach. *huggles* Areala
  19. A moderately-amusing bowling simulation, this one. It was pretty cool in that you could do more than just straight bowling, and it offered you the option to play a practice mode. Also nice was the option of playing as a male or female bowler. Here's a video of somebody tossing a few frames: *huggles* Areala
  20. This game was an absolute hoot to play. Imagine Final Fight-style gameplay (including Haggar!) but confined to a wrestling ring, and you had the essence of Saturday Night Slam Masters. Check out a two-on-two match and tell me you wouldn't love to play this: *huggles* Areala
  21. Mario is Missing! was one of those educational titles released on the NES and SNES that attempted to actually teach kids something of value (in this case, history) via video game. Here's a couple minutes of the game in action (as you can tell, it wasn't terribly exciting): *huggles* Areala
  22. A really awful narrator attempts to sell us on the merits of Inindo: Way of the Ninja in this promotional video. *huggles* Areala
  23. Golf gets a Mode-7 upgrade on the Super NES from HAL's Hole In One Golf. Check out the first couple of holes: *huggles* Areala
  24. Some fun Chicago-on-Sacramento action in NBA Jam: *huggles* Areala
  25. Part one of a nice walkthru for Ys III: Wanderers From Ys on the Super NES: *huggles* Areala
