The Super Famicom was still 2 months away when this issue was released, and the anticipation was REAL. (See the disclaimer (apology?) on the cover.) That doesn't mean there aren't SFC previews, of course. An interesting feature of the previews is the "my software tastes like this!" box which imagines what food each game would be. For example, Sim City is a pizza, because cutting the pizza up into equal portions is like zoning your city, and sometimes it can be fun to cut up the pizza/city in a crazy way. For some reason, they chose not to assign a food to Actraiser and gave it a "no comment..." ?5 points -

I think everyone knows about the Sonic and Knuckles "lock-on technology" feature allowing one cartridge to be inserted into another to alter certain things, but I didn't realize the Famicom was doing it 4 years prior to that. After uploading yet another ad for Sunsoft's Nantettatte!! Baseball, I noticed a couple of odd things. First, there were different ads for the game, with the first appearing in April 1989, and the most recent I just uploaded from December 1990. That's quite a long time to continuously advertise a game, and especially a sports title. But it all made sense when I noticed in the most recent ad a picture of a miniature game cassette. Rather than sell an updated version of the same game every year like everyone else doing sports titles, Sunsoft had designed the original game's cartridge to accept mini cartridges which would be sold separately with roster updates in successive years. Anyone know of any other games to do this?2 points

Meanwhile I'm that guy sitting in airports reading comics and watching movies on my laptop LOL. All the storage and functionality I could ever want, and I'm old enough to still wonder why no one ever mentions laptops anymore when discussing portable devices. I could even use it to edit magazine scans while traveling. Of course, then I'd have to kill myself since clearly I no longer considered my time to have any value whatsoever.1 point
