  1. I have a compulsion to fulfill my childhood wants from the early 90's. I couldn't afford a Atari Lynx or 3DO back then.....but now I can. So its sort of an obligation for me to own those systems. I already told the girl that when we get married, I am taking over the basement and it will be a video game room with a pinball machine and a full size MAME arcade cabinet.
  2. I have been getting stronger and stronger urges to buy retro consoles and handhelds. I keep telling myself that I will never get up the $677 for a PS3 if I keep letting these urges take over. I have no idea why but I really want to own an Atari Jaguar, Panasonic 3DO, Phillips CD-i, Atari Lynx and Sega Nomad. I am wondering if any of the rest of you guys suffer from this too
  3. Oh snap, I am addicted to Treasures of Montezuma, Tiki Towers, Blocked, Stick Wars.....and now they come out with this!
  4. Last time I played Sims, I made my girl and me........I started fooling around with the neighbor, and my girlfriend laid in bed until she starved herself to death. I haven't played since
  5. Kevin Gifford the owner of Magweasel.com has decided to take his website in a new direction. As such it would be a horrific loss to let the work that he put in thus far to disappear. I have contacted Kevin about the possibility of combining the content from his wiki into the Retromags wiki. Kevin has graciously given Retromags permission to copy his descriptions into our wiki....and we are working on getting the scanned covers moved over also. Without Magweasel we would have been in the dark on quite a few "quirks" with certain magazines. Kevin's magazine collection is beyond amazing and so is his love for gaming magazines. Please take the time to thank Kevin for his generousity in helping out Retromags. I have already started moving over some of the descriptions into our wiki, and our pages look Fantastic now http://www.retromags.com/wiki/Electronic_Gaming_Monthly http://www.retromags.com/wiki/GamePro http://www.retromags.com/wiki/Nintendo_Power http://www.retromags.com/wiki/GameFan http://www.retromags.com/wiki/Game_Informer http://www.retromags.com/wiki/PSM http://www.retromags.com/wiki/TurboForce Big thanks to Kevin again, Make sure you check out his newly redesigned website (MagWeasel.com) -Phillyman
  6. Super Gaming It lasted 4 issues.... http://www.games.net/article/feature/11738...that-died-fast/
  7. Exactly my thoughts, Now I would like the Movie industry to do the same with new movies. I can not stand people who talk, fall asleep or make noise. So let me pay a flat rate of $15 to view a brand new movie in High Definition on my TV...in my own home. No thank you to $4 popcorn and $4 sodas.
  8. Megaman 3 is the only Megaman game I own......I can probably say that it may have been the only one I have played
  9. The only bad thing about naming it the "Wii" was this contest...... Source
  10. No doubt its on the way, but that is soooo fake. Nintendo and Sony love to do redesigns of hardware, Nintendo has been doing it since the NES and Sony since the PSx.....so its on its way
  11. There is, it is 5 posts to enter the Arcade section
  12. Worth some fun reads http://www.mylifeisaverage.com/index.php
  13. Bought New Play Control Mario tennis, and two brand new VMU's (one black, one blue)
  14. Thank you very much for taking the time to write about us
  15. Funny, I went to search for it and cant find it.....I would get it
  16. What a bitch move, they should have shut it down immediately.....not wait until its 97% complete and then send a C&D
  17. You know I ran into the same problem when searching for EGM #1......It kept going for over $100.......finally I got my hands on one for $31 .....scanned it and resold it for $200......then bought another one from Ebay a few months later for $10
  18. Does Youtube do the same thing to you guys?
  19. I fell out laughing last night when I saw this.....it ranks up there with "Dick in a Box" and "Jizzed in my Pants"
  20. I hacked the code of this site to allow Hulu video's to be posted. When you find a video on Hulu that you would like to post here......just click the "Embed" button on Hulu and you will see a bunch of code like this.... <object width="512" height="296"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/HJCiEwoFqNnw8nUzjO3t7g"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/HJCiEwoFqNnw8nUzjO3t7g" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" width="512" height="296"></embed></object> Now the only part you need is the part after "/embed/"......which for the example above would be http://www.hulu.com/embed/HJCiEwoFqNnw8nUzjO3t7g All you need to do is place that between an opening and closing Hulu tag....like this.... [hulu]HJCiEwoFqNnw8nUzjO3t7g[/hulu] After you have done that, the video will display like this..... Now just a refresher.....Youtube can also be embedded*, but its a bit easier since Youtube has its embed code directly in the URL.....Example..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxw1F9cKPXo Take the part after the "=" and put it between two Youtube tags..... [yt]Fxw1F9cKPXo[/yt] Will result in ..... Enjoy *Youtube sometimes disables embedding on certain videos.
  21. Now now Thor, Gargus has a point....I mean through Retromags I was able to quit my job and retire to the Bahama's. Not only that but I am able to afford my personal trainer and 5 star chef.....some weeks I even have enough for me and my super model girlfriend to jet half way around the world. To anyone that is wondering, I get maybe $10 in donations per week from Retromags. That is about $520 a year..... $520 per year - $120 in hosting fee's per year --------- $400 - $100 forum/download manager software updates per year --------- $300 - $70 domain name renewals --------- $230 - $300 in magazine purchases per year --------- -$70 Profit!!!!! Yeah I am living large
  22. Ah this brings back memories
  23. You don't have to contribute, you don't need to donate....but the attitude of "Gimme Gimme" is not an acceptable one. What exactly do you propose I do? The magazines are between 100MB and 200MB in size. That means every 5-10 magazines that get downloaded is a 1GB deficit against our bandwidth quota. Our hosting companies rules are the following.... So no, I can not open up the floodgates for you guys to leech. Now to why I quoted Triverse.....He is Exactly correct! Not one member on this forum....has taken the initiative to make a torrent out of our releases. Why? Because you cant be bothered to, you want everything presented to you. I have no compassion for people with your opinion. In your fantasy world this is how Retromags would function.... Phillyman buys the old magazines off Ebay out of his money Phillyman scans the magazines Phillyman edits the magazines Phillyman creates a torrent with the magazines Phillyman seeds that torrent 24/7......365 days a year Sound about right? If you think that is how its gonna go? Your dead wrong! You should have read the FAQ....
