  1. Agreed! But here is the problem......up until last November this is how we operated......Our releases were put up on Mininova and we ran a private FTP server. Guess what the number 1 problem was.......Only myself and a few others seeded! Now it was fine for a while, but when I am running a FTP server and hosting torrents.....it kind of gets to be a pain in the butt when you see that people cant even seed for a day.....they immediately jump off at 100%. Plus every time I wanted to play on Xbox Live ....I would have to shut down everything! Which would lead to 10 posts about why downloads weren't working. So last November we moved to hosting the releases on this site, and posting them to Rapidshare for people who don't wish to donate or participate in the forum. Now I have ABSOLUTELY no problem if a user wants to distribute the Retromags releases through Torrents, DC++, P2P or Newsgroups.....the only thing we ask is that you don't modify the releases and release them how they are presented.....For example if a release is coupled with a .NFO text file....we ask that you distribute them together.....and if at all possible when you create the torrent you put a click able link in the description field that links to this site. If you back pedal through the last few months of posts, I have been actively looking for members that would be interested in creating torrents .....we would love to have a multitude of members that would take our releases and place them on Mininova, The PirateBay, [censor bypass], Demonoid and BlackCats......No one has really shown an interest helping out with this though.
  2. I can protect my dashboard while making it easier to remove labels
  3. I just had a good idea for how to remove address labels from magazines before scanning. I am going to try it this week and see it it works.......The idea is to leave magazines in my car during the hot summer days......I know the inside of a car gets up to 120 degrees.....and it should weaken the bond between the label and magazine. I just had this idea as I was taking some magazines out of the car that had been on my back seat.....will keep you posted

  16. I was browsing through Atari 2600 games on the internet the other day and I can remember being like 6 years old and playing some of these games. Its like every day I see a screen capture of a old 2600 game and go "I remember playing that 20+ years ago!" I feel bad that I sold off my Atari 2600 and 7800 as a kid, I believe I traded them into EB Games and got Streetfighter 2, Starfox and another SNES game for my collection of 2 systems and 50+ games
  17. You are right Meppi! But Mort technically already vouched his scans to Retromags about 2 years ago. He sent me all his material on DVD's. I have just been hesitant to import it into the new system But I will double check with him again about us using his material.

  19. For those who don't know, Retromags set up a distributed computing team on Folding@Home. If you are not familiar with distributed computing or Folding@Home please click the link below... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding@Home Basically it boils down to this, You install a small program on your computer. The program then uses a very small amount of processing power to do mathematical calculations. I have it running on 3 computers and at no time do I ever notice this program running. The results of these calculations are then reported back to the Folding@Home creators for analysis. This program is non intrusive, and contains no viruses or spyware! So starting today until July 1st, anyone who installs this program, and folds 10 work units. Will receive a 1 month Premium Membership. For every 5 work units you fold after your initial 10, you will receive another month of Premium Membership. All you need to do is go to this website.... http://folding.stanford.edu/ Download the Folding@Home Program, and then go into the configuration menu and place your user name and the team number 54458 You are welcome to install this program on as many machines as you own, you will recieve credit for each username you setup. So if your user name on Retromags is "SuperMan", and you install Folding@Home on 3 computers. You would use Superman on machine 1 Superman2 on machine 2 Superman3 on machine 3 Make sure you enter the Retromags team number so that you show up on our stats page! It is 54458!
