  1. I recall when LG began talking about this that the contracts for both format prohibited such a player. Are they just saying "the hell with it" now and moving forward?
  2. Yeah, send me a PM over there at google on it. Username is the same.
  3. ... and to add some drama to the whole thing, Sony's Blu-Ray player keeps getting pushed back, now to October. It sounds as if they're gonna push the PS3 as their ONLY Blu-Ray player or the only way people can get their hands on this stuff from Sony. That's one way to move a console, sell it to people who won't ever buy a game.
  4. I would have loved to see Kid Icarus get an honorable mention, but it always was a bit underappreciated.
  5. Mario Kart uses it for menu and map selection on the WFC, and I think to change what the second screen shows in game play, but that's it.
  6. MBJ: Oh my god can you not be more true! Now grant you, I will say that the DS to DS Lite is not quite the drastic transformation that the GBA to GBA SP was. That was fold-up over just handheld, and lit screen over no lit screen, so the difference was ten fold. I played the heck out of my GBA SP but never played by GBA due to how hard it was to play unless you had perfect light. That said, I want a DS Lite for the reason you said .... to make it easier to play two player games, cause the brighter screen DOES made a difference outdoors, and due to some better battery life. I don't need it as badly as I wanted an SP (which I bought on launch weekend), but I do want it.
  7. I also think it was the only e-reader game that ever got consistent play by anyone. I need to go back and print up some of the cards, I know that can be done now.
  8. When did you first play Sudoku? For me, it took Brain Age to get in on it.
  9. Blazer, tell us what you REALLY think!
  10. I have $600 that needs to go to a lot of things more important in life then a PS3!
  11. Well ... the store I work for sells a lot of Video Game themed shirts, but they don't have an online store yet. Call 'em up at 513-777-5740 or e-mail them at pixel@gamejunkie and inquire about what shirts they have, Stephen there will ship. As for the other items, I've just bought them as I saw them. I even see some game themed shirts at Target very affordably, like in the $11 range.
  12. I want the 360 first, just because I am a fan of the original XBox and of the Live service, and I'll get it once I can afford it. I'll be thrilled if they lower the price to $300, I've seen rumors, but especially after the PS3's ridicolous price, I have no complaints with $400 BUT, I do want a Wii at launch! It'll be affordable, fun to play, have a lot of different and fun stuff to do, and the Virtual Console. With it being affordable, I'm gonna try and get this system on launch day for sure.
  13. I've been very lucky in this sense. The only hard drive I have had crash recently was a 100 gig that was the biggest available when I got it, of course just out of warranty, that crashed about a month and a half ago, and I was at least able to get about 70% of what was on the drive off before it died fully.
  14. I've got a couple of items that I thought were cool: * Pac Man Fuzzy dice in my car * Two shirts, a "know your roots" shirt back before the retro stuff got too huge, and a 1-up shirt.

    Guilds!

Good lord, the #1 and #2 players in the same guild! Who's your first target, Newsbot?!
  16. badinsults: Try renaming the files to .rar and then trying again. Anything .cbr should be a RAR file, just renamed. jbbdude: Yes, you can totally dual boot 2 OS's on the same machine, many people do it all the time.
  17. My guess is because no one wants to "half-butt" any issue on this site, so if it isn't done and looking perfect, then it's not really done and ready to go.
  18. Well, as long as everyone can do something, we'll all be fine, be it with my bandwidth, or other people's money or scanning, we'll definitely get there.

    Poll Section

Hopefully as more people participate in the forums, this will become less of a problem. We have 842 members now. If HALF of them posted every now and then, this place would be hopping!
  20. LOL ... yeah, it's fine to get to 100 however you need to, but c'mon, QUALITY. Also, good to run into you in the comments at pleasuredome.org.uk ... I sense we are both rom and CD file collectors, I know for sure I am. You have a real Turbo system to play the games on? Anyways, the Wii and XBox are both great systems for different reasons. We can only of course comment on what we THINK the Wii will be all about until it's out there for sure, but I'm sure devs will get plenty out of the system when it hits. Remember, Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 look better then almost anything the XBox ever put out, and the Gamecube was comparatively very underpowered.
  21. Philly, you using GoDaddy hosting too? jbbdude: That site has limitations too. For example, it doesn't work with files over 50 megs, which a lot of the mags are. Not to mention, there are a few reasons why it would not be advantageous to necessarily have magazines just out there to get without either the need for a small donation (I hope Philly keeps this $2 a month thing, and I hope lots of people signed up, it's worth it), or the use of other services. I plan to use some available file hosting services more shortly for parts of "the big torrent", to rekindle some of the fervor of it again.
  22. Well, Parallel IDE is always limited to 2 items per channel ... if it's SATA drives, you can put 3 in no problem although I don't own anything SATA yet myself. If you're stuck on PATA your only way to expand on that woud be to buy an add-on card, which you could get from newegg.com for probably under $40, and that would give you more drives to pick from. OR ... you could buy an external enclosure and turn one of those drives into a USB drive. I have a couple of these enclosures, but on my dying hardware, the USB ports can be finicky, so I don't even take advantage of this yet. You can get enclosures for well under $30 nowadays. So you've got options, both internal and external.
  23. I'd love to ... except I need to get that too! The first Dreamcast torrent was what got me 150 gigs worth of credit and a 2.7 ratio, then I got the MAME set so I could get seed credit at pleasuredome, cause their leecher/seeder ratio is sickening unless you get the right stuff (or one of their new free torrents)
  24. 420, You want me to snail mail you some stuff for seeding?
