  1. I remember this one. Isn't this the one where he said that he and his son played the game together, to the chagrin of his wife or something?
  2. I remember this ad. It's something like John McClane #618273 or something.
  3. To be fair, EGM did undergo a rather irregular publication period a couple of years ago (as Areala mentioned) while Nintendo has been rather regular in their issues. Man, I even bought EGM's supposed FINAL issue, only to find out that they'vew resumed publication a year or so later.
  4. Oh man. Imagine the shelf space needed for all of it.
  5. Yeah, that is indeed nostalgic and brings everything back full circle. At least Nintendo did the ending of the magazine right.
  6. Yeah, I got the first two at OoPA. One of the admins there said she had the complete set (I'm waiting for Issue 27 since that's the one I got) and that she'd be scanning them but that was three years ago from when she wrote it in their post. :/
  7. While surfing the Net last night, I finally remembered the name of this magazine. It stuck out in my mind like a sore thumb because of the utter British-ness of it all which, to the mind of an Asian kid in his mid-teens, might as well be an extra-terrestrial language. So then I looked at the UK Downloads section and I don't see it. From what I read, it was one of the more popular UK mags. Any reason why it's not in the list?
  8. Whatever the shipping charge, I'm sure it will be a pain in the ass to deliver.
  9. For $30k, I'd rather get a La-Z-boy and get all the consoles, a huge ass HDTV and a great CRT for the retro games. And games.
  10. I don't even have today's current generation of consoles. :/
  11. I never was a Nintendo player after I switched to Genesis for the 16-bit era but to see the longest console game magazine just up and leave is sad. One of the very few things I hate about the Internet.
  12. These are the ones that made my afternoons great: MASK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQdgbs0IUDg Thundercats: Silverhawks: Captain Planet (I used to have the hugest crush on Linka lol): And of course, my personal favorite: Whoops, made a boo-boo with Silverhawks:
  13. Frankly, I prefer old game journalism way back in the 90s. You could really feel their passion in the pages. This new breed of Internet game journalists we have now seem unrefined and a slave to the video game publishers/companies. The Mass Effect 3 ending brouhaha comes to mind.
  14. Hah, I knew that little fence thing has a purpose.
  15. Congrats on getting married!
  16. Wait, PSP is already considered retro? Man, I'm REALLY getting old!

    Diehard GameFan?

Whoops, nevermind. Saw this at the Pre-scan process thread.
  18. Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but my search did not turn up anything so I'm going to ask. I noticed that there's no Diehard GameFan in the directory list. Any reason why this is so? I'd love to check back that GameFan issue I had with Vectorman as the cover.
  19. Steam Summer Sale runs from July 13 to July 22. Get those wallets out people!
  20. We never got any video game ads here in Southeast Asia. Sucks. :(
  21. In no particular order. I'm only listing the ones that I have played, and only on the Famicom, not emulated or re-made: 1. Double Dragon III 2. Adventure Island 3. Battle City II 4. Contra 5. Salamander 6. Wai Wai World 7. Ninja Gaiden 8. Punch-Out! 9. The Goonies 10. Double Dragon I
  22. You know, I wonder how the Nomad would have fared if it has today's rechargeable batteries. Someone should make something like that.

    Dredd

Seriously, am I the only one who enjoyed the first movie?
