  1. Issues 9-12 are special to me. They were the first EGMs I bought myself. I remember reading through them on a family vacation after purchasing all 4 issues in a campground store. Turns out a friend of mine gave me Issue 0 after he finished reading it, so that was the very first issue of EGM I ever read. I still have 0, but the cover was lost at some point in time. Anyway, I think I will work on releasing EGM 12 after I finish editing EGM 23. I've updated my work in progress and included a preview shot of 12's cover.
  2. Editing on EGM 23 is still in progress. I've over halfway done and hope to have it ready for uploading very soon. I've started on my next release as well: At the suggestion of Redsyrup, I've researched how to remove Moire Patterns. At first, I didn't think them too much of a bother, but after looking at them page after page, they irked me quite a bit. So, I've found the option on my scanner to remove them and will implement it with the scanning of EGM 12. Hopefully, it will turn out great looking scans! I love the image on this cover. I've used it as a wallpaper on my PSP for months before switching it a couple weeks ago. I've also got a shot from the ending of Ninja Gaiden II as my wallpaper on this PC. Just a great, great game.
  3. Some of the games are doubles, but I'm loving the SFC! Now I need more imports!
  4. One of the hardest NES games. I still have never beaten it. Can't get past the "chase the rat" stage.
  5. Yeah, but that was in January. News in that issue is already 4 months old. If it hasn't been released yet, why now? I mean, I want it, but the news is old.
  6. I have it and actually started scanning it last weekend. One of the staples in my copy is not lined up with the spine, so one corner of each page would rise up. I tried mashing the scanner lid down to compensate, but it just bent and twisted the other pages of the issue.
  7. I've finished scanning EGM 23 and will have it edited by the weekend. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to upload it then as well. After that, I'll have to think of what to scan next. I started on EGM 12, but the staples are not even in that issue and the scans were not coming out right. I don't think I'll continue with that one. I still have SNES buyer's guide issues or I could start another EGM (other than 12). Who knows.
  8. I've got this book somewhere. I've started a couple portables, but never get very far into them. Maybe one day when I actually have some workspace. Hard to do this on the kitchen table...
  9. What are some good PSP games? I've got both GTA stories and Metal Gear: PO. Thought about getting God of War, but it looks like a Devil May Cry type of game. I really didn't like that one...
  10. An emulator doesn't compare to the real carts. Especially that emulator...
  11. I beat Minish Cap the other day. First Zelda finished since LTTP. As for the last dungeon on the first Zelda, I actually made a map using our Apple IIe and LOGO. Sadly, I lost it somewhere....so, I got bored at work one day and made another one! Yay! Slacking off on the job!
  12. Yeah, I knew it wouldn't be a problem finding the paper, just the time to do it. Got to go to a wedding this afternoon and I'm cutting grass in about 30 min. I really don't enjoy weddings. I went to my own. Shouldn't that be enough?
  13. EGM 23 will not be ready by the end of this weekend. I've gotten several scans with bleed over. I need to tract down some construction paper to help me fix that problem. Hopefully, I'll be ready to upload next weekend.
  14. Triverse has been helping me learn the editing process. I think I have it down. Do these preview shots look bad?
  15. I've finished the SNES Buyer's Guide #1. I'll be uploading that tonight. Still working on EGM 23. I should have that one finished by next weekend. Also finished The Minish Cap. Fantastic game. This is the first Zelda I've finished since A Link to the Past. I've played almost all of the others released between the two, but haven't finished them yet. EGM 23 has a "16bit Entertainment Buyer's Guide" in the middle of it. Should I scan that as a different magazine, or include it in the EGM 23 scans?
  16. I'd say Dreamcast. I've got many games for it, but never play it anymore. It's been in storage for close to 7 years now. Possibly more. I also think the N64 is a close second.
  17. I'll pm you a list. Way to much to put in a post. Unfortunetly, I think of wrestling like gaming. The current stuff stinks.
  18. Just scored EGM #15 off ebay for a cool $1.76! Even with shipping, I got it for just a bit over cover price. Whoo hoo! Just 17 more issues to complete my EGM set!
  19. Awesome times with the GB brick. Tetris, Mario Land, Zelda: Link's Awakening. Ah, the memories. I'm still playing my Game Boy Advance right now. Found a GBA Micro with 2 games and a carrying case for $40 on ebay. Very easy to sneak a few games in at the office with this thing.
  20. I wouldn't mind checking out a couple Wiiware games, but it's a hassle to hook up my wii to the net and buy/download them. I have 1 wiiware game on my wii. Mega Man 9. I got that using points I bought when I got the system in 2007. I've been online with the Wii/PS3 a grand total of 3 times. Just a hassle. I want to play games with my game machines, not connect to the internet. I have a computer for that. If they'd let me buy it from my computer, download it to a SD card, and load it onto my system that way, I'd purchase more stuff.
  21. Retro GOOD! FPS BAD! I enjoy gaming pre-n64. I will play new games, but I'm looking for retro stuff more than deals on new games these days. I have a PS3 with 5 games and a Wii with 10 games, but I play NES, SNES, and Game Boy games every day.
  22. I found the guide and flipped through a few pages. The game listing pages have a ton of writing in them. I circled, checked, or colored in sections of games that I had. There's half a metroid password on that map, a kid icarus password on that section, and many, MANY item locations written in the Zelda sections. The Zelda section has the most writing in it.
  23. Count me in the "unimpressed by FF7" camp. I played it, and I beat it. Aside from someone dying (name omitted just in case there's folks who don't know who died) and the main bad guy, I can't remember much at all about the story. FF6 on the other hand....best in the series for me. I enjoyed 8 better than 7 as well. Never finished 9 or 10, and never played any of the others except for 1. I will say that 7 had some of the best music in the series. The piano collections for 7 were way better than 8, 9, and 10. I'd have to say that 6 is the best game and the best soundtrack overall.
  24. I'd love to get these on dvd. Any chance we could trade? I started collecting video game shows a while back. Currently, I have a number of Icons/Game Maker shows from G4 and some history of gaming type shows from different places like the history channel, G4, MSNBC, etc. I've also got a good bit of the "I love ..." series from VH1. At least 1 of the I love the 80's has a NES segment. Anyone else collect tv shows? I've got tons. Not just videogaming related. Mostly College Football and pro wrestling.
  25. Most is game related. Stuff like, " I have this game" or where items are on the Zelda map. Maybe some Metroid or Kid Icarus codes as well. I'll see if I can't locate it tonight.
