  1. Bought Infamous a few weeks ago. Love that game. I'm in my second play through. Bought Assassin's Creed and Red Faction Guerrilla this past weekend. Not bad games, but I still find myself taking them out to play Infamous.
  2. I'd say the NES generation as well. I'm 34, but didn't really get into gaming till the NES. We had a 5200, but hardly ever played it.
  3. I'd love to get some shows on vhs...
  4. I enjoy Blu-Ray and I try to get the new movies that I care about on Blu-ray. I like dvd as well. The PS3 does an excellent job of up-converting the dvds. Blu's look great and sound great, but I don't have a surround sound setup, so sometimes, it's hard to hear the dialogue over the music/effects.
  5. The usual stuff: NES SNES N64 GC GBC GBA-SP GBA-Micro Game Axe PS1 PS2 PSP X-box Nomad DC I think that's it...also have a Wii and PS3. I play the GBAs and PSP daily. I'm thinking of hooking up the N64 again. The PS2 and X-box are hooked up and I do play them regularly. I considered myself strictly a retrogamer until I bought infamous for the PS3. Now, I'm looking to get more PS3 and Wii games. I fired up Super Mario Galaxy last night for the first time in months...if not a year...still stuck on 76 stars. I had hoped to get all 120, but I may just finish it before then.
  6. Super Metroid is amazingly awesome. I just finished playing through it a couple days ago. I've probably run through it 20-25 times now. One of the best video games ever made.
  7. Hope it's worth it. I thought about getting one myself, but I've already got to many machines that will play nes games.
  8. I thought OoT was awesome, but I never finished it. In reality, I didn't play the 64 much at all. I was really into the Playstation.
  9. No way I can choose just one for each era... 8-Bit: Kid Icarus Legend of Zelda Super Mario 3 16-Bit: Super Metroid Super Punch-Out!! Final Fantasy III (6) Chrono Trigger 32 bit: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Final Fantasy 8 Metal Gear Solid 64-bit: Zelda: Ocarina of Time Super Mario 64 I guess if I had to choose 1 for each, it would be Kid Icarus, Super Metroid, Castlevania: SOTN, and Zelda: OoT. Really, though, all of these listed are neck and neck for the top spot.
  10. Just found out that I'm missing the poster from Nintendo Power #90. The cover shows Super Mario 64 charts...I don't have them and the staples look to have been pried up and bent back down. I'm not the original owner, so it looks like the poster is MIA.
  11. What about backwards compatability? The Atari 7800 had the ability to play 2600 carts right out of the box, but the 2600 had been dead for 2 years when the 7800 was released. The PS2 had it available at launch and you didn't have to throw out all those PS1 games that were just a few months old. I'm sure it was a strong selling point with certain people.
  12. I think you'd have to put the PS2 in there as well. Still going nearly 10 years after launch.
  13. EGM 12 is taking longer than I thought, but I'll be working on Nintendo Power #90 after I finish with EGM 12.
  14. I got my PS3 with stimulus money in 2007 (or was it last year?) and really regretted the purchase until this past Saturday. I bought Infamous for the PS3 that day and played it as much as possible until yesterday. I'm pretty sure I've logged over 20 hours in the game so far. I love it! It makes PS3 game number 5 for me. Before that, I was only using the PS3 as a blu-ray player. I bought infamous around 2:30 Saturday, but had to wait till after 5 to play it. My PS3 controller had no juice in it, I had to update my firmware, then had to install the game. It was all worth it after I played a few missions in the game. Awesome title. Now, I'm bargain hunting for more PS3 games. I watched Sony's press conference at E3 and was impressed with a number of games. The motion wand thing was ok, but I'll have to see some really cool software for it before I buy in. God of War 3, Assassin's Creed 2, and the play, create, and share racing game all looked great. I'm also keeping an eye out for price drops on Fallout 3, Street Fighter 4, Little Big Planet, Legends of Wrestlemania, and a few others. I had thought about getting a 360 for my birthday, but now might just buy PS3 games. I just got an original Xbox a couple weeks ago. I see no reason to hurry out and buy a 360 right now. As for the list of games above, I'm not interested in any of them.
  15. Wow. Reading this topic now and just found out a few minutes ago that Michael Jackson died today.
  16. I always loved getting a new Nintendo Power in the mailbox. I also loved getting the newest EGM when they shipped in bags. Once they cut that out, I'd get some sub-par condition magazines. That always pissed me off. Getting a new magazine that looked 3 years old.
  17. Vacation is over. I'm about halfway through scanning EGM 12 and hope to have it uploaded in the next week or so
  18. That made my day! That's great news! I may even subscribe again.
  19. Kid Icarus, a sequel to Metroid Fusion (in 2d of course), a new DKC, a new Zelda, or a new Mario released in 2009 and I'll be a happy gamer. I'd really like to see the first two announced at E3......either for DS or Wii (both would be fantastic!).
  20. I've got a Nomad that I'm not using..... I don't feel the need to buy consoles that much anymore, I just try and concentrate on software for the consoles I have. NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, and the Wii. That's enough consoles for me at the moment. I would like to get a Saturn at some point. I've even got Nights for it, but still don't own the console. My backlog of games is decades old. Currently, I'm working on Zelda: The Age of Seasons for the GBC. Pretty awesome so far.
  21. Might have to get Lunar. I've got Silver Star and Eternal Blue for PS1, but they are still sealed. Doesn't seem right to open them now after so much time has passed. Same thing with Majora's Mask for the N64. I've had a sealed collector's copy since it came out. Luckily, I can play that using the Gamecube disc. If I ever beat Ocarina, that is....
  22. 1. Super Metroid 2. Super Mario World 3. Chrono Trigger 4. Super Mario Kart 5. Final Fantasy III 6. Tecmo Super Bowl III 7. Super Punch-Out!! 8. Street Fighter II Turbo 9. Donkey Kong Country 2 10. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  23. Awesome. I always loved G-Force/Battle of the Planets...
  24. lol....that would be a challenge, eh?
  25. EGM 23 is finished and uploaded. I hope to get 12 out before the end of the month, but I leave for vacation on the 24th, so it may be June before I finish it.
