  1. I agree with you about there being no real significant ties to each Zelda game in the series, I'd have to get the book out to remember how and why the timeline works the way it does. Believe it or not, I've on just recently seen my first Star Wars movie (I had to stop reading Jake's post because of spoilers, though Star Wars is probably the largest pop culture thing in it's category I pretty much know it from all the references in modern-ish television). I started with IV and am going to continue in the order that it was released on the big screen. I'm going to let IV sink in and watch it a few more times, before I move on to V (probably in the new year). I've got to say, it did give me that feeling I would have had as a child watching this.
  2. Man, I hear you. I hate how much the price of games has shot up, because everyone seems to be collecting now. The only positive to this is that non of this ends up in the dump. :/ I am a pretty sentimental guy, so I hung on to all of my old toys and video games, picking them up when ever someone didn't want them or had them for sale.
  3. Do you still have these? I am a collector and will give them a good home.
  4. This might be my favorite hangout, and, E-Day, you might be my favorite person.
  5. Haha! They're all pretty bad, the one that stands out as the best, is Mortal Kombat, but that might just be because of the awesome theme song.
  6. Our little guy turned eleven weeks this past Thursday. I put on any music written by Nobuo Uematsu. The piano collections are great, he seems to like them. Incidentally, we named our boy "Chrono".
  7. Haha! Phillyman, you and I are on the same page, in that regard. There's just something that's really disgusting about the center of a Whopper. Bleh!! And I never cared how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, but I never wanted to attempt it again, after the first time.
  8. I have so many great memories being a kid, but I'll give you the highlights, in no particular order: Weekend movie/video game rentals. I loved visiting those places with my family and friends. Getting the newest issue of a gaming magazine, whether it was off the rack, or through the mail. Finally getting my own TV for my bedroom, to play video games without having to wait for a sporting event or TV show to end. Popping in a new game for the first time, either at my place, cousins, or friends. Forts!
  9. I didn't notice this pinned topic, and made my first post to What are you playing. Anyway, I just want to say "hi" and that I am happy to be here. I am a big fan of video game magazines and even a bigger fan of video games. I've been a collector all of my life and my focus now is trying to complete my NES library. In my younger years I always bought magazines at our local 7-11 during the NES and SNES days, I didn't have a subscription until I was old enough to convince my parents of it which (sadly) was about the time of N64. My favorites being Game Pro and Nintendo power, but I had others (Electronic Gaming Monthly + variations, Expert Gamer, and quite a few strategy guides). I let a lot of my subscriptions run out during the late Gamecube/Early Wii era, which I wish I wouldn't have done. I didn't really keep the best track of my magazines so I am missing some, here and there, but would like to finish off my Nintendo Power and Game Pro collection, so if you know of anyone selling, please let me know, especially if it's NP#3, I can't for the life of me find that one. On one of my more recent trips across the country (Canada), I answered an Kijiji ad for an arcade, I started talking with the guy, he's a retiring arcade owner, and he kind of showed me the ropes when I started asking questions. Anyway, he had a subscription to Replay Magazine, and was nice enough to give me a chunk of them to look over, before he threw them out. I haven't been in contact with him in a while, so I hope he still has them. Pretty interesting read. I'd be willing to scan them if I knew of a way to do it without having to take the magazine apart. If anyone would like to see pictures of my video game collection, let me know. It's nothing spectacular, but I like it. I look forward to meeting/interacting with a lot of you.
  10. Hello all, this'll be my first post to the site. In anticipation for the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I've been playing through the Zelda games. I picked up the Hyrule Hysteria game and got a little bit better insight of the timeline, and am wishing that I would have played them that way as opposed to release date. What do you think?
