  1. I can only imagine. I wish there were an easier way, or at the very least, a way to rebind them. Glue and press? I dunno. What mags have you done in the past? Man, I think I've hijacked this thread. Maybe we should take it elsewhere?
  2. That's disheartening. I'll just have to keep an eye open for second and third copies of each. :( Incidentally, what do most of the people who scan here do with their magazines after they're finished? Hopefully they don't throw them out. PS: I've got Episode IV on again. Lovin' it!
  3. Thank you for the kind welcome, it's great to be here. I'm looking forward to being a regular here, it's nice to be around people with a similar mindset. The hope is to contribute where I can, I just need to do a bit of research on the scanning of magazines, I really don't want to de-bind any of them. I am 35, and I don't know why it never happened (watching Star Wars), it's just one of those things, which is weird because I watched just about everything, growing up. It's very hard to avoid spoilers, it's a pop-culture titan, and is mentioned in just about everything.
  4. Noted. Thanks for all the info. I'll let you guys know how I fare.
  5. Doesn't matter, you just reminded me about Crazy Taxi. Going to play this a little later today. Thanks
  6. I am looking for, but not actively seeking out video game magazines. If you've got any GamePro, or Electronic Gaming Monthly, that you can't stand the thought of throwing out, please send me a message, and I will give them a good home.
  7. I've got a lot of thinking to do. :/ I was hoping to watch CW but not until I after I finished the 7 movies. Maybe I'll really take my time, wait three years in between the V and VI, then sixteen for I. That should give me plenty of time to mull it over. What about Ewoks or Droids cartoon series?
  8. I think the humor came out of a Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig's script for it. McCarthy use to be funny, but is a one dimensional actor like Will Ferrell, always screaming profanity. And, I've never really found Wiig's awkwardness to be that funny. For me it had nothing to do with the female cast. I think I would have a hard time watching, knowing that it's not the original. With that said, could I ease up if it were a different cast? All I can say is "maybe", I don't know who could fill the roll as close to the original cast would. Lol. I love the Louis Tully quotes.
  9. I'm from Canada, so it's going to be even more expensive. Might be better to order from Japan. Their shipping seems to be a lot cheaper than shipping from the States, which doesn't make sense to me. I've ordered a lot of Famicom and Super Famicom games from there over the years, along with a lot of plushies and can't believe the difference. The only downside is having to wait a month for everything. Thank you for the links. I'll probably order one when I get a little more cash.
  10. No worries about the spoilers. I have an idea of what happens in the first six, but I haven't heard a thing about the seventh, other than it "made a bunch of nerds cry". I might do it in the order that you said, I know I, II and III were disappointments. I think it was Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory that said "I prefer to let George Lucas disappoint me in the order he intended." I think he might have been referring to Clone Wars, but will still more than likely watch them in release order, like I had initially had in mind. Maybe once I watch them all, I will watch them in that order. I also agree with wanting to see more original films.
  11. Nintendo Power. I'm super happy that Nintendo Force, picked up the torch.
  12. There was a lot of talk about a third movie in the making, for years. It just never happened because non of them could agree on anything. I think I'm just a little bias because it could have been, but instead we got a Bridesmaids movie. Not that Bridesmaids wasn't bad or anything, it's just not Ghostbusters. Would be cool if they could do a continuation of the cartoon. I'd be more inclined to watch that, over this movie.
  13. Art would be a nice skill to have. I remember people doing this, but have never done it myself. Should we bring it back?
  14. If he's into racing, I'd probably go for the Sega side of it. Maybe some Cruis'n USA/World. Take him out to an arcade, I'm sure he'd have fun with a lot of those games. I watch a Youtube Channel called John's Arcade and another called Arcade Impossible, apparently you can link the arcades up over the net, and race with others if you can't afford more than one cabinet. You could always run a MAME emulator on your PC, if not, find an Xbox, they're super cheap now. I'm a huge RPG fan like you are and not really into racing games outside of Mario Kart (though the Burnout series is sort of fun). I feel your disappointment.
  15. Unfortunately I never started watching until after it finished airing. I really hope they do as you say "do it justice".
  16. Whoa! That's pretty cool. I don't have anything like that, but some of my favorite sections in video game magazines are where people write in.
  17. I move around a lot, for work. Which really sucks! I don't recommend it.
  18. Not really. It was hard enough to get a read on the quality of games as it was during the NES and SNES era. Honestly, I'd rent first, then make my decision, it was the only way.
  19. Holy smokes those are pretty cool! Love the link, how much is it? Where would I get it from? Keep in mind, I can't read Japanese.
  20. And at the price of games lately she probably only had to sell two copies of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt to pay for each one. :/
  21. It saddens me that it's not the original cast. I think they just made a Bridesmaids 2 movie and slapped them into a Ghostbusters universe. :/ I picked up that Firehouse RGB DVD set years ago, I'll more than likely watch that again. I just watched AVGN's review of the series. Check it out:
  22. I hope it sticks around a little longer, this time, I can't say that I'm a super fan, but I love when cool things make a come back. I watched the video for it, all those people trapped in the 90's (on whatever floor it was). It put a smile on my face.
  23. There are quite a few of these popping up. I funded Jeffrey Wittenhagen's SNES version, though it is more of a collector's check list, but it does have a Compendium which is going to be tidbits about the game, along with players memories and stories about them. I have his previous NES book, it's pretty neat. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thesubcon3/the-complete-snes-collectors-book-and-ultimate-gui?ref=users Not sure if you guys are familiar with Pat The NES Punk, he just put out his own, too. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/560468638/nintendo-nes-library-guide-and-review-book-of-750
  24. I've got between 30 and 40, but haven't collected the newer stuff (I think 4rd gen and up). It doesn't feel like they're flooding the market with new characters and variants but when I think about it, there are quite a few. Anyway, the reason I stopped was because they were being scalped and prices were just too high. :( Makes me sad when people take advantage of a popular hobby. It takes the fun out of it. :(
  25. It's been a very long time since I've tried it, and I cannot remember which emulator it was, but I've played some Secret of Mana for a while, with someone over in Germany. I'm certain that it's mostly done with sports titles, but Shoot'em and Beat'em ups would be a blast to play over the internet. There has got to be a way to play MAME over the net, can you imagine 6 player X-Men, or Turtles in Time, maybe even a little Sunset Riders. I'd totally play with you if we could get it set up and work out a time.
