  1. There are of course 3rd party alternatives depending where in the world you are at you got different options but they arrive from the 30th of this month and some not until last of December, but they are coming, everything from turbo controllers to joysticks as well as wireless not to mention extension cables and regular controllers with longer cords. Now I am not gonna really be of help here (maybe,) but perhaps if you didn't think about the option what you can get in the meantime or permanently is extended cables for the machine, micro USB and HDMI (make sure correct cables,) that will then allow you to have the machine near you so you may easily hit the reset button to enter the menu, for saves and changing games as well as turn it off.

    Spirited Away

I kind of agree, the only one movie of theirs that I love is spirited away and I have it as one of my all time favs. Of course got the bluray. Never watch with dubs.
  3. I'm not surprised, I have also never met anyone else who played it even less know about it :(
  4. Thanks, I bought it on a fluke when it came out, at first I was like wtf then it grew on me as I kept playing it, great game If able to you should try it.
  5. Tekken 3 Wipeout Resident evil 2 Final fantasy 7 Final fantasy 9 Gran Turismo Fighting Force Castlevania Symphony Johnny Bazookatone Destruction Derby Some other great games however I did not include because they came first on PC and were superior on PC which is what I played them on.
  6. I didn't know that about the UK In other parts of EU it was the biggest success of all while Sega and the competition was but a footnote and what was popular besides Nintendo was PC and Amiga. As for other games, well first things first we have zero interest in an American football game for obvious reasons and we did have plenty of popular sports titles from football/soccer, F1 and World Cup to Ice Hockey. So if picking a sports game go with that perhaps something from Konami. You also had some European developed titles like Lion King or ports only released here like Devil World and versions of games that were different on European release like contra then more popular titles over here such as Faxanadu, Little Nemo, mega man 3, Turtles 2 Arcade. And let us not forget New Ghostbusters 2, that didn't get released in America. Bottom line, 3 main regions versions and audiences and only 2 mini editions was a bummer, and judging by sales of the thing in Europe (sold out everywhere from retail with a year waiting period currently,) I suspect they dropped the ball on that and if collecting it would have been real cool to have it.
  7. Of course I get it and I agree with you but I don't know if the guy was nostalgic or one of many who buy one to play it for the first time and perhaps didn't even know it existed, personally Famicom was my first machine though and it is also more readily available currently. But right now checking amazon.co.uk they sell them as low as 120 the American mini NES and they do ship everywhere so I hope he got one. On a side note I call it American NES because Nintendo JP Europe really dropped the ball on us here. Not one European title and then it has games like tecmo bowl, I personally found that to be a big let down and a real shame for us European fans.
  8. Try amazon online and elsewhere, in Europe they will ship at prices of maybe 150 max. Or get the famicom mini instead, much better
  9. That never held true in regards to having to upgrade that often. You can get a great set up that will last you for more than 5 years of gaming easily, you might not actually be able to set the graphical settings to max in the newest games as they are released but it would still outperform a console in graphics. PS4 pro isn't even 4K and is very deceptively marketed. A computer also has far better so called backwards compatibility and life of your product vs modern consoles. Personally I think you get far greater value out of your money on a computer than you ever will on any PlayStation or Xbox. I think at this point people just hold on to things for tradition and not wanting to leave their comfort zone but again, personally seeing as how the new systems are in fact just computers with different OS, I think it is just a matter of time before they too see that computer far outweighs a modern console in every feature and price.
  10. For me it was all about the light gun games and some driving like Ferrar racer. Besides that I loved pinball. More recent and not ancient was the DDR etc and I enjoyed that a lot at the arcade. I didn't even bother with the beat em ups or fighting games at the arcade, But I loved playing those on consoles at home or at someone else's place.
  11. All print media is going to die, if they even wanna stand a chance they would need to publish WW in as cheap printings as possible and offer something special but what if anything is worth writing about in games today?! Maybe a retro/culture mag could make it but I doubt anything new will be able to break through. It would probably have to be kickstarted and require constant Patreon.
  12. I buy both but I have long reconciled with the thought that nothing I own digital is safe, eventually I will get screwed over, I suspect we all will. At least I try keep some physical games and hopefully we will get more devices like the NES mini classic in the future for offline besides owning a physical device/games.
  13. Very few games have both a great mp and sp in the same package. It usually ends up I buy the game for one or the other and not both so if I get an mp game for the mp then that is what I will play, same goes for the sp. Some people seem way too sensitive in regards to online interactions. But then I am use to online gaming since the early 90's. I think you will find a great experience if you have the patience, does the mp look like fun then stick with it, as with women likewise with online gamers there are "plenty of fish in the ocean," online gaming when it works is an amazing experience just as a great LAN party. Remember that "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me."
  14. It isn't gonna replace my iPhone outside, not gonna replace my iPad at home or when traveling and if I want great Nintendo games I go retro and Skyrim remaster I got on a computer. People might get a bit hype now but this is gonna fail out the gate. Personally just waiting for Nintendo to stop making consoles unless they are retro and drop their library on computer and iOS/android. Also wtf were they thinking with a 720p screen. I wouldn't be shocked to learn later that their net profit on the NES mini classic edition will be greater than on the switch.
  15. Because Steam both saved and killed PC gaming at the same time. I do play PC but usually titles I have owned for years if not longer already. Of course I think the PC is better than any modern console, not even a contest and some type of games can only be offered on a computer unlike modern consoles.
  16. Games that are not made anymore, difficult to get today or are any good that require accessories such as the light gun games, DDR and things like steel battalion for the few reasons I mentioned.
  17. Besides Shenmue and Shinobi, of course. The real streets of rage and final fight, the FIGHTING FORCE!
  18. Teenage mutant ninja turtles 2 Duck tales Chip n dale Super Mario bros Super Mario bros 3 Mega man 3 Faxanadu Bubble bobble Punch out Kid Icarus I didn't put much thought into it and I am sure I forgot plenty, also many great games been mentioned a lot already. However a bit disappoint no one mentioned gremlins 2?!
  19. One of my all time favorite games. Hope you got to play it later.
  20. NES the first Super Mario for me and duck hunt. I know I did see some arcades before that and played a few but I don't remember what games except the flipper machines but those are not vidya and while I don't remember I probably played some form of pong before that but so many years ago difficult to know for sure so Mario and duck hunt it is.
