  1. I didn't get to play that many game's in 2009. However I plan to change this in 2010 (still can't decide whether to say two thousand and ten or twenty ten). Anyway of the game's I did play, these are my favourite's. Street Fighter IV and FIFA 10 for the 360. Bowser's Inside Story for the Ds. I didn't get a single game for my Wii, which is kind of criminal I know, but nothing really stood out for me except an occasional virtual console download. That is, nothing except New Super Mario Bros. Wii stood out for me and I will definitely be getting this game soon. I don't have a Ps3 but thank's to some very generous family member's at Christmas I now have the means to be able to get one. The thing is though, I'm not sure if I really need one. I'm trying to think of the game's exclusive to the Ps3 which would convince me to get one. Anyway these are my favourite game's of 2009, not too many but like I say I plan to play a lot more in 2010.
  2. Two great scans, thank's a lot. C&VG was such a great magazine.
  3. Thank's for the early Christmas present gladiator, great scan.
  4. Hmmmm......interesting list with some truly great game's, they're just not in the right order. But hey, I guess everyone has their own idea's about what game's should be on a list like this and what order they should appear in. I wonder if this list was compiled solely by the Game Informer's staff or if the reader's of the magazine had any input. One thing did catch my eye about this list, they included Mortal Kombat 2 at no. 72 (a series which I never really liked) and yet amazingly they don't have a single Virtua Fighter game anywhere on the list. Anyway apart from this and maybe a few more omission's, it's a pretty good list.
  5. That piece of music from Final Fantasy VI is beautiful, make's me want to check out the game. It's so epic and wistful and wouldn't be out of place in any great movie. It's got a kind of Ennio Morricone feel to it. Very cool.
  6. There are certain song's that when I hear them I automatically think of the PS2. These are the Dub, Reggae and Ska song's which are played on the K-Jah radio station in GTA : San Andreas. I associate these song's with the PS2 because I played this great game for so long and K-Jah was my station of choice when either driving around exploring or when parked by the coast looking at the sun going down etc. There was such a great choice of music in this game. I would usually listen to radio Los Santos (hip hop) when doing drive by's, or K-Rose (country music) in the country and Radio X when I was in the mood for something alternative/indie but the song's on K-Jah were my favourite. Now whenever I hear certain ska song's and particularly some Toots and the Maytals song's I always think of the PS2.

    Top 10's

Some interesting tips on how to survive family time over the holiday's from that site tinman, I especially like the eggnog and tequila suggestion's. And a lot of great EGM info. there Jake. I agree with most of the EGM game of the year award's but what's up with 1995's winner Twisted Metal? Must have been a lean year for game's.
  8. I haven't read too many review's of Zelda: Spirit Track's yet but just in term's of graphic's it look's really nice judging from the T.V. ad that's running at the moment. I've just bought Phantom Hourglass today and even though I've just had a couple of minute's playing it I'm not exactly loving controlling Link with the stylus. I keep wishing I could use the D-pad. Maybe I just need more time adjusting to the stylus control.
  9. Hmmm this look's interesting. I wasn't aware that the DS even had this type of a game available for it. I usually only see DS game's which cater for a much younger audience whenever I'm in my local Gamestop or GAME store. I am a complete light weight when it come's to horror stuff but I still enjoy it so I'll look out for Theresia next time I'm near a game store. Could be fun to play over Christmas.
  10. Yes, I'm afraid it's true Areala, you are a huge blabbermouth. But now that I've brought it to your attention maybe you can get some help with this problem. Just kidding, I simply meant that Retromags is a lot more interesting when your around. :)

  11. Yeah, I definitely remember this cover, it look's really good. I think I prefer it to the North American one. Thank's for jogging my memory Areala.
  12. Well done on your first Retromags scan Areala. I had a 48k speccy back in the day so it was interesting to see the ZX80 and ZX81 (the two preceeding Sinclair machine's) in the newsletter. Thank's again for the scan.
  13. Yeah, major coup on getting this interview, great work E-Day.
  14. I've never played this game but after reading your blog I checked it out at you tube and it look's pretty good. I remember it being released but I think we in Europe must have got a different cover for the game as I don't recognize the one in your blog. I don't remember the game making a huge impression on me but with so many 3D platformer's around at the time I guess it probably just got lost in the crowd. If Kya: Dark Lineage is even half as good as the brilliant Beyond Good and Evil I'll definitely have to get a copy. Great blog.
  15. Good to see you back. This site was pretty quiet in your absence. :)

  16. I saw footage of some of the new SSF4 character's at Kotaku a while back. I was glad to see that Cody, Guy and Adon from the Final Fight and Alpha game's are going to be included in the game. As well as the bonus round's there are going to be new stage's in the game too which is cool. Juri is looking very good and it's good that Dee Jay is returning too. I never liked T-Hawk much, mainly because he kicked my ass so much back in the day. Apart from these 6, I'm not too sure if any more new character's have been announced for the game. I think there may have been some rumour's about Ibuki from Street Fighter 3 appearing in the game but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Really looking forward to this game.
  17. has been playing Earthworm Jim

  18. Hey Areala. I liked that Edge of Dawn song that you posted in the Shoutbox, reminded me of Depeche Mode and Interpol. Hope the move goes smoothly. :)

  19. Another great C&VG scan. Just read issue 184 and really enjoyed the huge Street Fighter 3 and Tekken 3 coverage. Great scan gladiator, thank's a lot.

    Movie Purchases!

I bought the Clint Eastwood movie "Pale Rider" on dvd today. Only cost 6 euro's, so a complete bargain. It's not my favourite Clint Eastwood movie but it's in my top 5. Really looking forward to watching this again. Clint rock's.
  21. I've got to say I really like Street Fighter 4 and I haven't noticed too many character's being overpowered. But then again I don't play online, I just play with friend's when we all get together for the occasional game night, and let's just say our gaming skill's aren't what they used to be so we're probably not the best judge anyway. I definitely agree with you regarding Seth though (such a cheap b*****d), and about the 360's controller which is so frustrating to play SF4 with. Great blog Mister Zero, really enjoyed reading it.
  22. Yeah, I think I agree with you on this. It's just more satisfying smashing a car up with a pipe than using your body. And then when the street punk drops to his knee's and cry's "Oh! My Car", it's just so funny. Good call Areala.
  23. I've had a big smile on my face ever since seeing the new's about the bonus level's returning in SSF4, especially the car smashing level. Can't wait for this game. Mister Zero, what in particular don't you like about SF4?
  24. Thank's a lot gladiator for the great scan. I used to buy C&VG every month without fail. It is definitely one of my favourite magazine's and the issue's with Paul Davies as Editor are some of the best. Liked the in depth coverage of Fighters Megamix in this issue and the news of Street Fighter 3 too. Thank's again for the scan.
  25. Some good recommendation's there for GBA game's to check out. Two more that I would suggest are.... Final Fight One Street fighter Alpha 3 I had a lot of fun with these game's, although Street Fighter Alpha 3 is pretty hard to play with the lack of button's and their positioning on the GBA.
