  1. Another great blog Areala. Yeah, there's nothing like a jump-scare, whether it's in the movie's or in video game's or like when your girlfriend ask's you where you think your relationship is going. It seem's like the jump-scare is getting rarer all the time as more and more of us become so media savy and see the intended scare coming a mile off. That's why it's so cool when developer's like Capcom mess with the established convention's and leave us realizing that what we thought we knew doesn't apply anymore. Now that's truly scary. Really enjoying your blog's, you have a great way with words.
  2. I check out ebay from time to time to see what kind of price's Dreamcast's are selling for. Occasionally I see a bargain but man the added postage price is usually really high. The only thing I'm not so sure about is the Dreamcast controller. I don't know what other people's experience's with the controller are like, but the fact that it doesn't have two analog stick's make's me wonder about it. It probably work's just fine, I guess I'm just used to the dual shock type of controller.
  3. Wow! Just checked in to Retromags to see if there are any new magazine's available and I find 15. Can't wait to check out the Gamepro's and EGM2's. Amazing work E-day, thank's for all the hard work man.
  4. You've got to play some Scooby at Halloween. Scooby-Doo Mystery Mega Drive Scooby-Doo Mystery Snes
  5. Some more of my favoutite's. 8 Bit Metroid 2 Game Boy Pokemon Gold Game Boy Colour 16 Bit Devil's Crush Pc engine 32/64 Bit Tomb Raider Playstation Tekken 3 Playstation
  6. I've always liked playing Resident Evil 2 around Halloween but if you really want a good scare I'd recommend Doom 3. I know a few people who think this game isn't all that scary but it definitely freaked me out quite a bit while playing it.
  7. There are a lot of cool idea's for game beginning's there Areala. I don't really know much about roleplaying game's but I could see game's going in a lot of interesting direction's from these starting point's. No.8 was my favourite as I'm majorly creeped out by little kid ghost's. Incidentally No.5 sound's like a party I was once at.
  8. Thank's for the advice tinman, I'll try to check it out.
  9. I think I heard somewhere that this game has a fair bit of slowdown when there's a lot going on. If it's true it's a pity because it look's really good, judging from the screenshot's in the ad. I haven't played it but I have played R-Type on the Pc engine which is just so good.
  10. I've been playing Duke Nukem 64. It's pretty good but I think I prefer the Playstation version which I played year's ago. I've also been playing Pilotwings 64. I'd forgotten how great this game look's. Had a lot of fun just flying around.
  11. I really like football, or american football as we call it over here. I haven't seen any game's this season on tv yet as I'm only able to spring for basic cable at the moment but I keep up to date at NFL.com. I'm a Green Pay Packer's fan, I guess mainly because of all the tradition and history of that team, plus because they still play football outside on real grass in the mud and the snow, which is how I like it to be played. I'm looking forward to tonight's game. Man, it's going to be weird to see Brett Favre playing against the Packer's. I just hope he and Adrian Peterson take it easy on us.
  12. Absolutely, I really like the simplistic old school charm of the Mega Man graphic's on the Nes.
  13. Just played Mega Man for the first time this morning. Man, I know that many old school game's are harder than today's game's, but even so this game is tough. Then again maybe my gaming skill's are just not what they used to be. I'm glad the game give's you the option to pick your stage at the start. After a while I picked Bomb Man's stage and eventually beat him. Even though I'm finding the game a little tough, it's really addictive. Every time I loose a life I just want to have one more go to see what's up ahead. And with every attempt I get a little bit farther. The old school Nes graphic's and music are really great too.
  14. I really like this ad from Capcom and the cool image of Firebrand (Red Arremer). I haven't played this game but from the screen shot's it look's a lot like the original Gargoyles Quest game for the Gameboy, which I'm playing at the moment. If it's anything like the great Gameboy version I'll have to check it out.
  15. Here are some of my favourites 8 Bit Knight Lore, ZX Spectrum 48k 16 Bit Street Fighter 2, Snes Super Metroid, Snes Zelda, a link to the past, Snes Super Mario World, Snes Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Drive Madden 93, Mega Drive 32/64 Bit Zelda, Ocarina of Time, N64 Super Mario 64, N64
  16. Just saw a video interview with Super Street Fighter 4 Producer Yoshinori Ono at IGN.com. He was saying that the game will have new opening and ending animation's for all the character's and interestingly he also stated how much he would love to be allowed to make a new Darkstalker's game some day. How cool would that be. I also saw some footage of new character Juri, the possibly evil, Korean hottie. She looked really good with some cool move's.
  17. I played Gran Turismo on the Playstation and Gran Turismo 3 on the Ps2 and had a lot of fun with them. I'll be interested to see how number 5 turn's out. The game is finally going to have car damage but I've heard different thing's about this. In one magazine I read, it said that only a handful of the car's will be able to be damaged while another stated that all the car's will show damage if crashed. I've also heard that the A.I. is going to be improved so hopefully there won't be any more of the computer controlled car's all constantly taking the perfect racing line every time. I'm definitely looking forward to the game. The thing I don't understand though is why it's taken the developer's so long to create Gran Turismo 5. I know there are going to be nearly 1000 car's included in the game and I know that the developer's are perfectionist's who naturally want to get every aspect of their game just so, but in the time that it's taken to produce Gran Turismo 5, two Forza Motorsport game's have already been released for the 360. It just seem's like this game has been in development for way too long. Just hope it's worth the wait.
  18. I had this game for the Mega Drive and liked it a lot. I prefered the two Street Fighter 2 game's but this had a lot going for it as well. It looked really good, very colourful and there was always a lot going on in the background stages. I remember there was a pterodactyl flying around in the background of the cave man's stage and a huge dinosaur which would come from the side of the screen and eat you sometime's if you lost the fight. I also remember it had a lot of training mode's and a cool replay feature. The Mega CD version look's even better but I still had a lot of fun with the Mega Drive version.

    Trainspotting 2

Trainspotting is definitely in my top 20 or so movie's. Brilliant Director and Cast and the music is amazing in it too. There are a few stomach churning pieces in it but the movie is about junkie's in Edinburgh so I guess that's to be expected. The book it's based on is also great. It's kind of like reading A Clockwork Orange, as at first it's difficult to understand the language being used by the character's but after a while you get used to it. I never read the sequel so I don't know what happened to the character's but it would be really interesting to see a movie that shows what became of them. God know's what that psycho Begby got up to.
  20. I know Capcom will probably milk Street Fighter IV for all it's worth and release sequel after sequel but I'm still really looking forward to this game. I'd like to see some of the character's from Final Fight included in the game and maybe a few from Street Fighter 3 as well.
  21. I find your lack of faith in the cheater's path disturbing. You don't know the power of the cheat code. A gamer's strength come's from the cheat code. Search your feeling's Areala, you know it to be true.
  22. This is a great looking ad plus it's got an image of Princess Leia in her gold bikini, which is always a plus. I didn't get this game because I found the first game in the series (Super Star Wars) way too hard. Maybe I should have though, it look's great.
  23. I was watching the movie Point Break last night on tv. I was never a huge Patrick Swayze fan but he was really good in this movie and it's sad that he's been taken at such a relatively young age.
  24. Just downloaded Donkey Kong Country from the Virtual Console. I've only played the first level so far but it was a lot of fun. The pre-rendered graphic's still look great and you've got to love any game that let's you go on a rampage while riding a rhino.
  25. I've never heard of this comic before but I'll have to check it out, she sound's pretty cool. When I was growing up as a kid I used to read 2000ad and I remember there being quite a few cool female character's in it who could hold their own with anyone. My name come's from a little girl who I used to know who could never pronounce my name properly. The closest she could come to it was atik and so the name kind of stuck.
