  2. Colecovision wasn't a failure. They had all of the true arcade ports. They were also the last system to be released before the crash. Maybe the Adam computer that came with the deluxe pack was a bomb but the console alone had lots to offer.
  3. Someone has to speak to the help about this calmly before someone complains again. Or you could hide a sawed off inside a bouquet of flowers then go Terminator.
  4. Speaking for myself, if we get lots of immature people hanging out I would be looking for somewhere else. Don't let the Beetle Juice avatar fool you. More people could also be a good thing, maybe complete some of the projects.
  5. Is their any particular order you would recommend taking these courses? If you had to take it all again what do you recommend? How much of this do they actually teach you?
  6. It sounds like fun but because you can't go out during the day I'd have to say no.
  7. If a CD which was originally recorded with 24 bit technology such as Celine Dion, then ripped and encoded at 256 thousand bits per second you lose some of the mid to high frequency. The bass doesn't get changed much. 128 Kbps is unacceptable to today's standards. I have found my middle ground at 320 Kbps. I don't believe you need to spend alot of money to get ~good~ sound. I use a Creative Audigy 4 sound card in my computer. It is 7.1 ready but I only use 5.1. One stereo output goes to the back of my room where it gets played back by a modern JVC Ghetto Blaster with 4-way speakers. The front port runs to a set of ear muff styled stereo headphones.(this works great for being quiet but still hearing everything) The center port runs to my monitor but I rarely use it and the subwoofer sits under my desk. With careful adjustments and fine tuning I get the most out of my bandwidth between 8 and 8 thousand hertz. If you listen to a Genesis game with good bass, this proves you don't need lots of space to make good sound, but if you want to hear crystal clear voices it's going to need alot more space in comparison.
  8. An alternative to Apen CD Ripper is to save the files with Ogg extension at 500 Kbps with Nero.
  9. What do you think about the idea of CD's being phased out for high bitrate MP3's that are sold on a band's homepage?
  10. He never mentioned what bitrate he encoded the tracks. If he used lame mp3 encoder with variable bitrate v0 at 320 thousand bits per second at 48,000 hertz, nobody can tell the difference between the original cd or this digital file. Editing mp3's is a snap. You can open them with for example, Nero Wave Editor and zoom in or out, cut & paste, and save it back to a new file with various extensions. Wave files fills up hard drives too fast unnecessarily when what he really wants is to play all of his music back while he does other things with his PC. Flac won't play on Virtual DJ and many other popular sound players.

    I Hate Game Stop!

Was this guy a stoner or was he just hard on the game sacred? I don't know enough about Xbox 360 to name any massive multiplayer online role playing games but by looking at the PC games shelf I know I could find a few. We have Electronics Boutique instead of Gamestop here but it is the same thing. When I go in to any store I never want anybody's help. I know what I want before I walk in and most of the time I'm just killing time by browsing the pretty boxes.
  12. I really enjoyed One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's hard to choose one but this one cannot be overlooked. Another great one that is only played on Independent Film Channel is "The Delicate Art of the Rifle".
  13. I remember playing Scooby Doo Mystery on Genesis. I ended up getting stuck but I think it's time to try again. This time with the help of a F.A.Q. Another one I remember enjoying was Stupid Invaders on Dreamcast. I beat that one.

    The Wizard

Where is Tobey Maguire featured in this?
  16. That's a good price. The NES is known to blink after a few years of use. It's the connectors that the cartridge slides into which fails. (I guess Nintendo was right when they said the Game Genie will ruin your game console) I bought one a few years ago for 15 bucks and the NES worked like brand new. The Super Nintendo never did have problems.
  17. Thanks for the info. This will take a while to collect.

    1998 Gamepro

The only one I have from that time period is issue 106, May 1998. On page 49 is a sneak preview for the N64 port.

  20. Baseline standard has the most compatibility for web browsers. Baseline Optimized is smaller but less compatibility with old web browsers and Linux systems but not PDF readers. Baseline progressive has the least compatibility but I'm not sure about that one. When I save Jpegs with Photoshop I always choose 0 quality and optimized. A higher quality I believe is only necessary if you plan to re-edit the file. These are 4 of the same scans I took. One is Baseline optimized quality 0, Two is Baseline Standard quality 12, 3 is optimized quality 12 and 4 is standard quality 0. I can't notice a difference in a PDF reader between Standard Quality 12 and Optimized quality 0. The only difference is optimized qualito 0 is 194 KB and Standard quality 12 is 5,290 KB. Optimized Quality 12 4,994 KB Optimized quality 0 194 KB Standard Quality 12 5,290 KB Standard Quality 0 224 KB
  21. Those are all good ideas. I' m living in my parents basement now taking school. I have mostly all I need excluding a fridge, sink, shower and pinball machines and a slot machine. It's hard to get furniture in and out of this basement but I would like to get a good couch to replace the love seat, also known as a crick in the neck. I will have to give up my slot cars if I wanted to build a Mame cabinet, which I do. I could get a projector to replace the smaller LCD monitor I use to watch satellite.
  22. Wow, I didn't know what you meant by sauder until I seen these shelves. This is like a trophy case. If I was you I'd go to Home Depot and look on their shelving isle. They have pre cut MDF boards at 16 inches wide by 10 or 20 feet long and less wide. It's cheap too. I bet you could get 40 linear feet for under 35 bucks. This could build 2 shelve units with five actual slots and a frame. This is what the white stuff looks like. You can build anything structural with it.
  23. I liked playing the original a lot better. The music is what usually draws me to play it. My sub woofer hits low and long and I like to punch out the street trash to the beats.
  24. I built these shelves in a room out of scavenged plywood and scrap pieces. You'll need a cordless drill for pre-drilling holes. Then you screw blocks into the studs and the plywood get's pre-drilled and then screwed to the blocks. It's more secure if you cut the gypsum out the exact size of the blocks. You will also need at least a skill saw or better would be a jig-saw and table saw. 2 and 3 inch screws and a couple hours per shelf. If this is out of the question then I suggest you go scavenging garage sales for a pre-made shelf unit. Personal I like using materials I have lying around. And it's permanent.
