  1. Working on Mega Play V3N5 Oct '92 and Super Gaming Issue 1 Summer '91
  2. Nice, done. Thanks again BTW, you had the vol/number transposed.
  3. Thank you. Uploaded. Although i didn't know what i was supposed to put in the database field so i left blank. Is there something I'm supposed to put there? How does it change in the database from missing to preserved?
  4. nevermind...i resized to 1920x2500 and saved at 10 quality jpeg to get the file size down a litte. Only issue now is when i go to submit file, i can't select Mega Play as the magazine. It's grayed out and not clickable. Any ideas?
  5. Yeah, i'm using a flatbed scanner. Is 2500x3250 @ 300dpi too large for my page size for upload? Right now the mag would be about 375mb which is kinda large compared to the file sizes I've seen of other Mega Play mags.
  6. Woot..my first mag scan done for the most part! Just going through each page for the last time to make sure I didn't miss anything. Not gonna lie, quite the task to scan, adjust, touch up lol. Went with 300 DPI, looks good without the extra scanning time wait and file size. Will upload soon.
  7. Thanks for the useful info! I thought there was some fancy program needed to turn the scans to magazine but I see its just having all the scans zipped then renaming zip to CBR/CBZ. Looking 2 up on a screen, 300 vs 600 dpi wont make a difference...but if people like to zoom in, then it would probably make a bigger different. Will definitely test out some pages zoomed in at 300 vs 600 to see if its worth the extra scan time. So far the couple pages I did at 300 dpi zoomed in looks fine to me.
  8. No color correction and it looks very close to the magazine original
  9. yeah, i turned up the option to save as best quality possible. I edited my last post so you may have missed my one question...is 300DPI fine or should I go bigger for each page scan to start with for some reason?
  10. Good to know, thanks for the info. So far I've found 2 Mega Play mags that are shown as missing. The scan guide says to save scans as tiff files if possible but my Epson only saves as jpeg. I assume that's not a problem. I planned on just scanning each page at a time, straightening, photoshopping marks, folks and all that out and then doing whatever the guide states at the end to turn it into a magazine. I was going to just scan at 300DPI. Should i go bigger? Do i need to make a thread stating the ones I'll work on so no one else happens to just start them?
  11. Hello there, Enjoy the site and the mags on here but never have contributed scans myself. I have some of the earlier Sega Mega Play mags that are "missing" which according to the site means no one has them. I guess that means I can start the scanning process? I did a quick search and didn't see anyone saying they're working on any Mega Play mags unless I missed it.
  12. Thanks for the info Dweller. I'll poke around. You'd think there would be a site for that for folks that lost their original materials and just wanted something to print out as a reproduction.
  13. thanks...i forget most people dont know what Misophonia is. Yeah it can get pretty bad for me. I don't go to theaters often because the sound of people crunching on popcorn the whole movie drives me crazy. I recently just asked a local theater if they have any wireless sound solution that works with headphones. Was so happy to hear most theaters do for hearing impaired folks but also works with folks like me. Sounds of people kissing in shows/movies gets me annoyed too. Had this for the longest time..as a kid I always tried to make sure a radio/tv was on while eating dinner with the family...silence with just forks off teeth, swallowing and lip smacking were too much for me to deal with. Weird thing is all these sounds don't bother me if I'm making them.....or a hot chick making mouth sounds lol.
  14. if i had to pick my least favorite character it would be George....watching him eat on the show absolutely disgusts me and triggers my Misophonia...i have to fast forward through parts of him eating.
  15. Some games whose soundtracks I loved for Genesis and Sega CD Herzog Zwei Thunder Force II Thunder Force III Whip Rush Revenge of Shinobi Midnight Resistance Shadow Dancer Streets of Rage 1 & 2 Super Hang-On Robo Aleste (Sega CD) Ecoo the Dolphin (Sega CD)
  16. I never beat an arcade game. I mean, sure, getting through OutRun but that doesn't really count. I'm talking about finishing a game like TMNT, Simpsons or getting all the way through MK
  17. Was wondering if there's a site that has high res scans of console pack in materials...manuals, coupons, ads, flyers, posters and all that stuff.
  18. I'm weird...I watch Seinfeld or King of Queens every single day lol. Either I watch it or its on as background as I'm cooking or computing. Have each show ripped to my hard drive in HD Breaking Bad was my first binge show experience. LOVED it. I think I finished the 5 seasons in about 2 weeks.
  19. I love finding a new song and loving it! Nothing lately but here's some tracks that I either heard on a tv show/movie or happen to hear on a youtube video or something. FOund it looking for an aquarium video heard it during a funeral scene in Sons of Anarchy heard it at the end of an Eastbound and Down episode
  20. Currently playing: Overwatch Battlegrounds Battlefield 1 Doom
  21. If you're lucky enough to find a mall with an arcade, most likely it will be filled mostly with ticket redemption games. Only 6000 tickets for a pencil? Cool, let me spend $27 to win that.
  22. I remember going to Epcot in the mid/late 90's and their Innoventions center was a huge Sega setup with a bunch of Genesis, Saturn and Arcade games set up. Was great.
  23. my bro was pretty good at MK2. He was in a tournament at the mall arcade and got pretty far until a little Asian kid beat him.
  24. You just reminded me of when I used to work at a resort as a kid and always heard this game in the rec area back in the 80's lol. How could I also forget Daytona USA. Loved the multiplayer versions. I would watch people play Dragon's Lair but was too nervous to play it cuz it looked hard. Did anyone go to Chuck E. Cheese as a kid? That place was the bomb in the 80's.
