Not much to add, except this section from Hotline in Electronic Games March 1985 Issue 36 Reviews of Nintendo games didn't begin until Nintendo Power as far as I know.

The Nintendo Advanced Video System was shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in 1985. This was Nintendo's idea of an American home console that was dropped.

The knitting peripheral was shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 1987 and this is what I believe was the flyer. They claimed this actually worked although Nintendo decided against it.

*Still No Spoilers* I've been watching the reviews of Rogue One and there are so many of them. The franchise is extremely popular. I made some tables. The 1st table shows the average score between the pessimistic IMDB and the Optimistic Rotten Tomatoes. They weren't very different from each other besides Phantom Menace. The 2nd table is the amount of times I have seen or estimate myself watching again. And finally the 3rd table is only my perception of how I feel about the entire series to date considering originality and the overall feel of the movies compared to each other. The originals are maxed out because they were more or less objectively perfect. The following three were bad and the recent 2 are better for reason I won't get into at the moment.

I spoiled myself so much this year that I have to wait until next year before I purchase gifts for myself. I'm in the market for a target pistol. .22 used perhaps I got my eye on the High Standard Sport King. Great accuracy and fun for plinking too.

LG is the only manufacturer of OLED right now unfortunately. LG 55b6p is going for $2000 US right now. I'd buy it myself if I was gainfully employed. One thing is for sure, Im buying a 4K this summer. It may not be an OLED. Nintendo is one of the originators of stubbornness and arrogance. Starting with the NES, if third party developers wanted to produce games for the NES, they were forced into strenuous terms such as; -Becoming obligated to develop exclusively for Nintendo for a period -Had to order at least 10,000 cartridges, pay in full and take the loss if they didn't sell The FCC in the United States had to step in and stop these practices but let Nintendo off with a slap on the wrist. If developers were allowed to make games for Master System, TurboGrafx, Commodore and Genesis, I would have to guess that things would be different. How much? No way to tell, but I would guess Super Nintendo would have come out sooner. Nintendo went with a cartridge for N64 because of sheer arrogance. Everyone at the time was embracing optical media but Nintendo had to be different. They did however introduce the first analog stick to a home console and the N64 did have a more powerful processor but ultimately got decimated by Sony. The Gamecube was more powerful because at the time IBM's Power PC arcitecture could stuff more power per square inch than a PC could. The mini disk killed it, just like Dreamcast having a 1 GB GD. The Wii had gimicky controllers that everyone adored at first and the console was cheap and only got cheaper. Mainstream began to grow apart as they realized it was too much work to make it run on the Wii and eventually it became a door stop. It was far too weak to put AAA games on and then the same thing happened with WiiU. Mainstream talking. We want more power. If they are like me, they buy a DS or 3DS and play it for a month then let it collect dust. AMD is back and they are hitting HARD. They fell behind an entire node size on their cpu because they don't have their own manufacturer like Intel does. Intel has been getting lazy. Not much difference between 2017 stuff and late 2014 stuff. Long story short, $250 AMD CPUs will be keeping up with Intel's 2016 I7 6700K which is enough to run any gaming rig. You could probably get stingy if you wanted. When AMD RX480 came out, Nvidia released their GTX1060 to beat it by a 4-5 fps for only $30 more. 4 months later and because AMD is so poor, they finally updated their drivers and all Graphics cards saw massive gains. The 480 now beats 1060 by 12 frames for only $30 less. The 480 can run any computer game at 1080 60fps with everything cranked as well as many other titles at 1440P The 470 comes awful close to running all at 1080 and it is only $180

These joy cons are going to be a mother's nightmare if children are losing them. As well as looking horribly cramped, if I need to carry along extra controllers, this seems to defeat the purpose of a portable.

I didn't say anyone would hate Nintendo but the mainsteam is getting sick of Nintendo's failure to build a reasonably powered machine and they are not even doing that. This will make Nintendo's already bad situation worse. I gotta admit, nobody makes games like Nintendo but if it is stupid to support a portable and home console, then tell me, how Nintendo was so successful doing it until WiiU?

And there's the mentality in Japan right there. All kidding aside, the person who bought the Xbox was likely looked upon as popular. So maybe you need to have above average confidence. Such as this "guy". The thing is, they want to portray someone mature with good looks, and a healthy physique to be playing Nintendo. They know that children watch tv and no matter how virtuous the characters are on tv, they are also independant younger people automatically want to be that too. Teenagers may also identify too, but as adults, they could likely find out on their own whether this is what they really want.

This is wrong. The Wiiu is strugling because it takes too much work to dumb down the AAA games. The Next should do just fine like gameboys always have. Playstation portable and vita are good examples that home consoles and portable game hardware can do well simultaneously. Nintendo will become the pariah game developer in the coming years which will not recieve much love from the mainstream gaming community. Honestly, people will be saying, "remember NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Wii, DS, Gamecube?" in this order.

Computers have existed and evolved over the same timeline but different paths than consoles. Consoles were derivitive of computers. Commodre 64 came 4 years before NES in the US. Both offered games. Nintendo had it's own intellectual property which made them successful. Commodore Amiga as well as IBM came 1 year before NES in US. They both destroyed NES and SNES technically as well as having many clones of Nintendo games and other unique options. They did this with either a 286, 386 or the high end 486 cpu. By 1995 Doom had been out for a couple years and people were hungry for power. The Windows renaissance began. Everybody wanted to get a computer modem and communicate with friends in remote locations. Gaming enthusiasts now had choices to make. After the dark ages of the 386 days, socket 7 was introduced and it ushered in a cpu clock speed war between AMD and Intel which up until the early 90's had been a race for memory. 3DFX was the superior graphics card from 1994 up until about 1999 when Nvidia picked the bones.

*No Spoilers yet* You'll be fine if you watch Rogue 1 through 5 before watching Rogue -2 through 0 because they were so obiously written as an after thought. The best part of Rogue One was the ending. It verifies what they talked about in the original Star Wars movies such as the sacrifices made by the rebels.

I'm sorry this is foreign to me. This makes sense if it were true but, you're saying Nintendo is taking developers from Sony to make for 3DS? I can't find any evidence of this. I comfortably say, "all worthwile 3DS games are Nintendo's or they are ports from older series with a few indie titles".

Don't let japanese people see that game. They'll want an Xbox. Some of those Indie games are on the level of Nintendo's best. In the case of Cuphead, it looks like Disney's best. If the timing is right when MS Scorpio is released, and wireless VR is available, this will make MS profitable I bet.

Don't be upset with my harsh words about a toy game console. I merely enjoy analyzing what is going on behind the scene. It's guys like me why that advances the technology for the masses. And I can't resist "Microsoft is a non-starter in Japan, but will definitely be competitive in western countries, their main opposition being Sony. For Microsoft to really pull ahead and put Sony squarely in second place, though, Nintendo really needs to succeed in Japan." Can you elaborate? "Big budget franchise games are still being published on the Playstation, but lots of mid-tier to smaller budget games that used to provide the wealth of variety that something like the PS2 was known for are being lost to Nintendo." Yea. Americans and Europeans enjoy first person shooters which require bleeding edge performance while Japanese people more so like a different style of game. Anime style, Dance Dance, and other pop stuff right? Japanese people get bent out of shape when a console is released anywhere but Japan first. The PS4 came out in US and Europe 4 months before it was released in Japan. They didn't like that. The Next will come out in Japan 5 days before US so that should make them happy. On a related note. 99 Xbox One units sold in Japan in the month of November. For what MS pays to keep servers running, they should just give up. ?

I see you didn't mention Nintendo. Good idea because all Nintendo makes now is a handheld console and theme park. What exactly does Sony excel at besides gaming consoles? Like you mentioned, cameras are replaced by smartphones. Sony is being outsold badly by Samsung, LG and Panasonic. It certainly isn't being driven by music sales. Microsoft has been bleeding cash. Some of their hardware is high class stuff but it certainly isn't selling. They gave most of their copies of Windows 10 for free. Their stock is climbing for a few reasons -The enterprise relies on windows server as well as client machines -Believe it or not they have excellent customer service -Their gaming sector is attracting younger people and game developers

Look, if sales numbers aren't enough then you can look at the parent company's stock. Microsoft is climbing, Sony is fading off and Nintendo took a big hit today. Y'all better buy 3 or 4 of these machines on release because it's going to keep tumbling.

The way I look at it, is to buy quality parts the first time. I never need to fix anything, I don't overclock. When a big upgrade comes along I have no problem selling my parts on fleabay, none at all. Also when I get a new graphics card, I can enjoy all my old games once again at higher fidelity. Smartphone are the absolute worst thing to play games on. My thumbs cover most of the screen and it is hard to control without the feel of physical buttons. I can't concentrate on a videogame in a moving vehicle or with people all around me otherwise I might consider it.

What I'm saying is console's are oudated as soon as they are released if not soon after like in the case of the 360. Also don't need anything like a "fully upgraded pc" to beat a playstation 4 pro. An I5 and a RX 480 will beat it. From there , I need to step up my graphics card. And nobody is designing games around the PS4 Pro. Sony should have waited for PS5.
