  1. i've uploaded two, both are pretty straightforward and focus more on exploration. enjoy! Sky Surprise: 779E-0000-0051-A8CD Sea Surprise: 42A4-0000-0051-CF10
  2. i've never seen the appeal of a Sony handheld. they don't support it whatsoever, and there's only a couple dozen interesting games for it, so what's the point? edit: i just looked on wikipedia, and it looks like there are a couple hundred physical games for it. who knew?
  3. i fully support the idea of retro systems like this. but at $300, no thank you. i already own an NES, SNES, and Genesis.
  4. hyper violence and super sarcasm is a great mix. add in lots of comedy and you've got a winner.
  5. i would've only been 10, but i loved Crystal Pepsi and still eagerly await its comeback. i'm with Areala. tasted almost the same, but a bit smoother. and without the aftertaste.
  6. dear Sly, i am sorry that you only have one tooth and soda would rot it. sincerely, twiztor
  7. Mortal Kombat fan checking in! but the newest MK i played was 4. my personal favorite is 2. although i also love Trilogy. i own it on both the n64 and the Playstaion.
  8. i live in Iowa. that's the state with corn, not the one with potatoes. we get a cold snowy winter and an unbearably hot summer. also, nothing of any significance has ever happened here. but i love it anyway.
  9. ended at about $57. a shame that i didn't see it sooner, i would've offered to be a mediary. i'm really not set up to scan full mags.
  10. OK, i gave in and bought a Sega Genesis last week. picked up Sonic 2, Sonic & Knuckles (my favorite!), Boogerman, and Eternal Champions. i've already got my "buy list" up to about a dozen games. i blame the thread starter.
  11. i remember back in high school there was a Mac-only RPG called "Taskmaker". i thought it was really awesome at the time and would love to play it again but haven't found any way to, since i've been PC-only since before 2000. oh well. i don't know if that's what you're asking, but it was the first thing to pop into my head.
  12. i've never really been a handheld gamer. i own a 3DSXL, so i guess that wins. but my playing on it has been sporadic since i beat Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds.
  13. i'll third the Wii/Wii-U comment. i find the Wii-U's gamepad to be incredibly comfortable and intuitive, so i'd recommend that, but i think the Wii still has a larger Virtual Console library if that's more up your alley. if you go the Wii-U route, definitely pick up Super Mario 3D World. it is fantastic in single- or multi-player modes. i also recommend NES Remix, which will give you short challenges and updated play experiences with retro games. if you go with the original Wii, Super Mario Galaxy is an amazing game. it takes the 3d aspect of Mario64 to a whole new world (literally?!) and is totally fun. Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby: Return to Dreamland, and New Super Mario Bros. are all recommended also.
  14. acquired a SNES last year. hadn't owned one in over 10 years. only have a handful of games for it, but there's no rush here. NES will always be my first love anyway. owning one again makes me want to snag a Sega Genesis (and 32x) since it has been an equally long time. keep debating on the GameCube. bought one right when it came out, but traded it in rather quickly because i wasn't a fan of most of the games.
  15. "Nintendo Power" IS video game magazines, as far as i'm concerned. in my later teen years, EGM was the other mag i'd always check out, but NP has always and will always be the epitome as far as i'm concerned. had a subscription for years.
  16. i have never played a Pong console. i have, of course, played the game numerous times, thru ports and clones and everything else. i always consider picking up a vintage Pong system, but know that it would collect dust WAY too often. can't deny the fun of a vs. pong match tho.
  17. definitely for me. i still have my mom's Atari system from when she was a wee lass (OK, she would've been a teen, but the point stands!). i used to treasure the days we went to Grandma & Grandpa's house, because that meant that we could play the ATARI! when my Grandma passed a good number of years ago, it was a bittersweet moment when my Grandpa offered the Atari to me (being the oldest grandchild). i took it and it still owns a cherished spot in my house. River Raid was always my mom's favorite game, so maybe it was passed down through her, or maybe it's just because it's a great game. the 2600 is a bit too primitive for me (the NES, the system i grew up on, will always be the best), but River Raid is a game i can't say "no" to.
  18. i think this may be the character Reynolds was born to play.
  19. i collect NES games. have 164, including all the best games (all 6 Mega Mans, etc.) Along with that, i have the PowerPad and a R.O.B. (just got the ROB and i'm super excited about it). I've got a Virtual Boy with 8 or 10 games. my n64 i probably have 30+ games. that's the heavy hitters.
  20. i think this is a really great idea. it doesn't look likely they'll make their goal, with only 4 days left, but i wish them the best of luck.
  21. i read this article over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. haven't played all of those games, but of the ones i have, i completely agree! also, tell your brother i appreciate his sense of humor in this article, definitely added to the overall enjoyment.
  22. i've only played two final fantasy games. the original and VII. not really a fan of the OG (nes rpgs are rather limited for my tastes) but have played 7 countless times. i've owned a couple of strategy guides on it (still have one of them!) and still have my original black backed release of it for the first PlayStation. it's still a gut-punch when Aeris dies. interested in following the developments with this game but don't see myself picking it up.
  23. oh, don't get me wrong, i think this find is amazing. the "what if" of the Nintendo/Sony partnership has been a question for a long time, especially considering what happened a year or two after the split. the fact that a prototype console like this even exists is mindblowing. i've had numerous people (that aren't even into video games) mention this to me in the last couple of days, which speaks to itself as far as impact.
  24. yes, i was talking to a friend about this (he suggested i try to buy it since i'm into vintage video games) and i pointed out that i wouldn't pay very much for it because it doesn't do anything. sure, it would be cool to have and display, but 99% of people don't know what it is, plus there's ZERO games for it. if it sells anytime soon i could see it going for a high price due to all the publicity and hype around it, but that's about it.
