  1. Would love to buy one but unfortunately Sega doesn't seem to want to or intrested in going back into the console business but hey that's why they made kickstarter for these type of things.
  2. That and you can add metriod, contra,Castle vanished and Mario kart to the mix.
  3. It seems the story lines are becoming to complex and convulsive to keep up with for regular casual gamers who just want a simple story line with more gameplay like minecraft.
  4. Seems alright but I believe thy should modernize their handhelds to have haptic feedback, mobile connectivity, streaming to to play handheld games on a 4ktv and they should add a syncing online system to play with console players online (provided it's the same version as handhelds)and provide a way to play their virtual retro games with other people like contra.
  5. The last system that I bought was the wii. Lately I've been purchasing handheld because they offer more variety especially old school gaming, more content, usally ports of consoles but more importantly since I like preserving my games I buy handheld because those carts last more than their cd xonterparts. I am also wondering if I can get back into modern gaming I hate dlc,day one passes, online gaming (data caps); (smh you pay for Internet than pay again for usage, amiibos and play to start games)and other things like waiting through cuts cents and tutorials instead of just pressing start and playing.
  6. Simple really the are trying to cut covers to make profits. They probably figured that by downsizing the mag a few inches vs cutting out pages saved them x amounts into their yearly earnings. I rather they shrink it than slim it to be honest.
  7. I've read some old magazines I belive the first one I read was a gamepro. Even though in the 90s Nintendo power was hyped (now your playing with power)and I wanted to buy one so badly I never did. The first game mag I bought was electronic game mag during the era of fighters thanks to arcade craze. Boy the covers were so captivating when I saw primal rage or Mk I knew had to buy it. They were so fun to read too. Looking back some magazines that I never purchased I think had really cool cover art like any official dream cast mag. Now I'm trying to collect retro gamer magazine.
  8. Amen to that. Part of the reason magazines were run to read was because of he artwork and displays they contained not to mention they had content. Heck I would even miss th e ads if they'd remove them because that like removing a part of history to me.
  9. Agree I don't think using digital credit is a good idea. I wonder will people become social phobes the way technology is isolating us yet at the same time bringing us together. I mean I've seen people walking on the streets who stare at their iPhone to avoid eye contact, same thing at restaurant and other venus. Heck one lady died walking that way not to mention I now see WAY MORE accidents on the streets thanks to texting.
  10. I wonder what would gaming be like right now. But one thing I do like is that back in the days the psx was untouchable period. It had so many wonderful is like crash bandicoot, parappa the rapper, and many more. Besides arcade fighters and the nes/snes the psx made reading game magazines really fun and entertaining.
  11. I've read a couple of them I use to love their layouts, readers response columns and the staffs humor the only thing I didn't like to much where their game ratings I thought they were kinda meh.
  12. The Internet with its provider of FREE fast on the verge information, strategy and cheat codes:basically killed magazines companies.Let's not forget digitally FREE copies(piracy)along with the magazine once a month news that couldn't compete with the internets constant news updates by the seconds; that and when you factor in how much money they were losing in paying employees and such and you get a clear pictures. Heck the only reason console gaming is even alive today is because they figured out a way to make up for their losses(used rental stores, piracy etc..)with dlc,day one passes, digital veraions, multiple special editions of a game and mobile gaming which right now killing the handheld consoles.
  13. Basically to read up on some magazines I didn't own and to find out what people thought at the time including rumors and such. Also I rather read digitally because my ereader has night mode, reads to me and it can zoom in ,which I can't do with regular books.
  14. This is weird but as a kid I thought that the notion of "growing up"up and getting tired of video games was crazy talk. But I haven't been playing games much anymore I find that I actually like collecting games more than playing them. Heck I actually like watching documentaries, history, avgn, lord karnage etc. Than playing games. It's like I've become a movie buff more although I do play retro and 3ds games. I don't know why but modern games even with all their Glam really don't wow me anymore like when I was a kid growing up.
  15. I am such a Hugh fan of street fighter 2010 the final fight sadly I don't think that game had even a cult following. Legend of Zelda 2 gaming mechanics for nes needs a sequel,I would love 2d side scrolling while seeing links sword shoot that famous beam shit that other games replaced with the new hurricane spin.
  16. I've also pondered that question. Heck eventually cd based consoles components will die out. You'd have to hack your system and change the components to except flash carts or you'd have to buy clones like retron to get that Retro feel.
  17. I played legend of Zelda 2 and I didn't think it was that hard to beat granted you do a bit of level grinding. I Actually thought transformers convoy was harder or ninja gaiden but if we're talking about cheap deaths than most of ljns games would fit that list.
  18. I use a mixture of alcohol and water to ease the harsh brashness of the alcohol solevent.
  19. I'm also a gamer from the 90s and have played a few Atari 2600 as a kid.Retro games are in style because modern games are to long. I have to sit an hour sometimes waiting on forced intro scenes just to play.
  20. Never used it but I am currently using retroarch although the emulator still has a few kinks to work out.
