    File Distribution

I misunderstood. Though I have never used AllPeers, it does sound like a good way to transmit files to one another for editing, etc.

    File Distribution

I think that the big public releases help to bring people in. Also, AllPeers doen't seem like it has caught on very widely yet. We need the widest distribution possible for the big releases to help bring people to the site. Finally, it seems like AllPeers runs a greater risk of tempting people to stop seeding torrents since hey are probably used to closing out browser windows when they are not using them whereas bittorrent clients are designed to stay open and have features that let them run in the background or minimize to the taskbar. In summary, I don't know if your suggestion would be the best thing for the project. If anyone disagrees, please feel free to speak up as it's entirely possible that I'm just being a stick in the mud.
  3. I don't plan to release them on YouTube, only Bittorrent. Could you elaborate on this YouTube reporting?

    Is this spam or what?
  5. If you can save up enough for startup funds, the Jackpot Express Slots game in the casino seems to pay off pretty reliably.
  6. I don't think that the discontinuation of the Gameboy line will really affect the rarity or price of the older Gameboy game because most of them have beenn out of print for a long time anyway so they are already fairly rare. The most expensive games when it comes to rarity are actually the GBA games that have gone out of print within the last year or two like Super Mario Bros. (Classic NES Series), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords, Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, and Mario Kart: Super Circuit. These are still in high demand since they are playable on the GBA and the DS. Also, not everyone is a retrogamer. Some people only like the fanciest graphics they they can get with their systems and probably don't appreciate the backwards compatibility of the GBA/SP. I am willing to bet that most GBA/SP owners don't own any legacy GB titles at all even though there are hundreds of classic titles available to them via used game sellers. I wonder how many people whose first handheld system is a DS or DS Lite will run out and buy any GBA games. All the better for those of us who love the classics!
  7. I had never heard of this before. It's a cool idea if you're into customizing the look of your system.

    Newbie Help

Most of the magazines are available for download via the Bittorrent filesharing protocol. If you are unfamiliar with Bittorrent, the client that I recommend is uTorrent. To find the torrent files search on either mininova.org or Transexual-Underground.com. Gay-Porn is private so let us know if you need an invitation. You can search for either "retromags" or the name of the magazine itself (ex: "Nintendo Power" or "Sega Visions"). Direct links to the torrents are not provided from this forum because it is against the forum rules.
  9. Information on an Gay-Porn invitation has been sent to you via PM. You might try downloading the Mario Mania Player's Guide there as it is a part of the Nintendo Player's Guides - Part 1 torrent that is currently very well seeded.

    Newsbot Spam?

I don't think that the posts to which you are referring are spam because a special locked subforum called "Internet Deals" was created that all of those posts are going into. I think that Phillyman set this system in place but I'm not sure.
  11. I wouldn't mind sacrificing most of mine. The only one that this really affects is Animal Crossing (GC) as it is my wife's and she would be pissed if anything happened to it. I just got the New SMB guide not long ago so I'm hesitant to sacrifice it but I've already beat the game 100% so I could probably handle it. Let the debinding begin! I'll update the list to reflect the change. Thanks to Dodonpach and JohnnyBlaze for the great guides, especially Zelda: Collectors Edition which is one of those rare and pricey ones.
  12. I've only played the original Red, Blue, and Yellow, a rental of the original Pokemon Stadium, and I currently own the revised Fire Red. With the exception of Stadium, which is really more of a spin-off they are all very similar. I like the improvements in Fire Red but I view it in the same way as I view Super Mario All-Stars: the improvements are cool but the original will always be the purest form of the classic.
  13. Oops, sorry. I was playing MKDS with a friend and an alarm came up for that auction and I bid without looking at who I was bidding against. Because it's impossible to pause while playing online I did it VERY blindly. Again, my apologies.
  14. More good news: I picked up the DKC 2 Guide today!
  15. I think that many gamers today would already say that Pokemon is a great RPG series. Some people won't admit it becuase it carries a certain stigma of being targeted toward younger audiences. This may, as Nethvar noted, be due to the cartoons.
  16. Although Azureus should work fine, I usually recommend uTorrent as it uses far fewer system resources. You should also check to make sure that your ports are forwarded correctly. This can be a major issue with bittorrent connectivity. Visit http://www.portforward.com/ for more info on this. Finally, if you need to request seeds for a specific torrent, you can do so in the seeder request forum HERE.
  17. I just had a thought on how future releases could be done since you mentioned that you were considering organizing them either by system or by year. An alternative method would be to release by game series. You could release a Mario set, a Zelda set, a Metroid set, a Rare games set (Banjo, Jet Force, Goldeneye, etc.), a Pokemon set, a Donkey Kong set, an RPG set, a Racing set and perhaps a set to catch the few games (ex: Animal Crossing, etc.). There is obviously a bit of overlap between these categories (ex: does Super Mario RPG go in the RPG set or the Mario set?) but it shouldn't matter that much where the lines are drawn. Also, these divisions would keep the torrent sizes managable.
  18. I probably could if I had a copy.

    Ps3 Vs. Wii

   This is great, true, hilarious, and wonderful in so many ways. Did Nintendo really make this? If it's authentic it would be that much more hilarious.

    Itty Bitty X Box

Thanks for the forgiveness. In retrospect I think that I was a bit harsh. I think that I was cranky from not being able to get to sleep at the time. I'm glad to hear that the game was fun. If I had an Xbox I'd probably pick up a box of Pops and check that out myself.

What is this exactly? If it's spam I'll gladly delete it and ban the poster. If it's something else like a test of a system to link to magazines, let me know.
