    Cooking Mama

Is anyone planning to buy Cooking Mama for the Wii? I loved the DS version so I'll probably pick up the Wii version today (I have it pre-ordered from Gamestop). There were some early mediocre reviews but I'm liking these non-traditional minigame based games. The multi-player mode looks fun too.
  3. Let's keep this thread alive. Any newer member want to show off their systems?
  4. We finally have some points showing! Is anyone else running this? In case anyone's concerned about it using system resources, I haven't noticed any impact on my machine at all (3.0 Ghz Pentium 4; 2.25 GB RAM).
  5. I managed to get up to 257 last weekend. (4 spares followed by 8 strikes)
  6. Several members are missing from the "top 10 attackers by level" list in the AtkShop. I noticed that 420 was missing and I think that other like sav2880 are too.
  7. Was that on launch day (11/19/06) or was this more recently that you were able to walk into a store and find one available?
  8. There have been more rumblings lately about the possibility of downloadable GB games on Virtual Console but still no solid word from Nintendo. Cicnird: I'm not sure what generation of games you are most into but if you like the older simpler gamers you should check out the Game Boy. It's amazing what they were able to do with that little system (kind of like how they maximized the potential of the NES over the years.) Highly recommended games include Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Pokemon games (not nearly as lame as they may appear), the Super Mario Land series, the Wario Land series, and the Kirby's Dream Land series. The original Donkey Kong Land was OK but the sequels were just slimmed down ports of the SNES games.

    Retromags Bank

I just deposited all of my Gil. I don't spend it very often so I figure that I can just make withdrawals when I want something.
  10. Another option I've been considering is http://www.microexpress.net. They have very reasonable prices for custom PCs with nice features (check out the MicroFlex 66B).
  11. I only use the e-mail/internet features when I'm feeling too lazy to get off of my couch and go to the nearest computer.

    Ps3 Topic!

Nintendo will never incorporate HD-DVD or Bluray playback with the Wii because the Wii is not meant for playing movies. We'll see how the PS3 does but as of this posting the Wii has already developed an impressive install base of 5.5 million units.
  13. I still play mine a lot. I haven't finished any of the games 100% yet. WarioWare is a lot of fun. It can be beaten prteey quickly but will require some replay to get 100%. Elebits is fun but it could offer better incentives to go back and complete the additional challenges after the first time through. Excite Truck takes a while to master and while the control shceme is difficult at first, it can be fun once you get used to it. I also have to play through my virtual console games. The Wii still takes up every precious free moment that I have. Games that I'm looking forward to include Super Paper Mario, Cooking Mama, and of course: Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, and Metroid.
  14. I think that my next purchases will be Super Paper Mario and Cooking Mama. Sonic looks semi-interesting but I would definitely want to play it before making the decision to purchase. I can't wait until they get the online multiplayer up and running. I have never had a console that could do this before (other than the DS) and I'm really looking forward to it.
  15. I do smell funny, and it's kind of weird that you know that. :P

  16. I personally don't care too much about the arcade stats anymore but as the number one ranking member in the Battle system I'd hate to lose my status.
  17. HEY! Why isn't Happy Feet on the list? I voted for Wii Sports. Zelda is great but it's only really a Wii game in the sense that it can be played on the Wii. It's probably just as great a game on the Gamecube. Wii Sports could have had more depth but it is elegant in its simplicity and I can't imagine what the Wii would be like without it.
  18. I just sent $30. It's about time that we got these preserved in high quality.
  19. I read this too. I guess that we could still do other Nintendo publications like the player's guides unless they are making those available. IMHO that would be better for them to do than regular NP editions as people will want tips for how to get through the classic games that they have downloaded for their Wii.
  20. You have to place a water bomb on the jet below the rock. This will cause the bomb to rise and blow up the rock that is blocking the entrance. Downloaded Kid Icarus today on VC. I never got very far in that back in the day but I'll try to beat it this time around.
  21. Something that everyone here should be able to discuss... I finally finished Zelda: Twilight Princess last weekend. I'm trying to beat Super Excite mode in Excite Truck. I've been playing a lot of games on Wii's virtual console. I just got gold medals in every level and cup in Mario Kart 64 and now I'm playing through Super Mario World and Zelda: Link to the Past again. I also picked up a used Super Game Boy for $5 today so I'm trying to finish Link's Awakening again. Once I finish all of these I may try to get back into Banjo Kazooie, which I got a few months ago but never got very far.
  22. 1, 2, 3, 4... I detect a flame war. I do not own nor do I have a desire to buy an Xbox. From what I've heard, satisfied customers are buying a lot of VC games and complaints are few and far between. If it ain't broke, Nintendo's not going to fix it. Yes. Isn't that what forums are for? I think it's clear on which side of that fine line I fall...same for you.
  23. Yes, private trackers are a good way to ensure longevity in a torrent. The Nintendo power collection that this site released last summer died long ago on the public trackers but is still alive and well (if a bit slow) on google's tracker. From a seeder's perspective, upload bandwidth isn't cheap (I pay about $60/month for my 768 kbps up cable service) and it's nice to get credit for uploading, even if it's in an imaginary economic system.
