  1. I guess it is hard to stop the Wii...that thing has been a wrecking ball ever since it came out. Reminds me of the days back when the NES was out and people were like "Sega wha?" Now if only Nintendo would focus on some really good games Sadly the sales for the PS3 are so diluted due to most games coming out for the RedRingBox as well. I KNOW it will not help that the Box will be getting things that use to be exclusive to PS...for instance Tekken 6. Even the above mentioned SFII is coming out for both systems.
  2. I guess this means there is very little hope for DLC for Mortal Kombat v. D.C. They actually implemented a nice system where they could have just dumped a ton of characters into the game. Sadly that means no more Nerd Super Matchups. /sigh
  3. SERIOUSLY...the Virtual Boy was not THAT BAD. At least Nintendo was trying to push the envelope. I mean it even had a Wario game that was a lot like Paper Mario in the Foreground vs. Background kind of way. YEARS ahead of tis time. Yes...you were stuck hunched over a tripod and quite possibly burning your retinas...but still. Can someone please show it a little love.
  4. Wow...the PS3 didn't even get a game in the top ten. Now that I think of it. I am not sure what came out in January that was a "must have" title. I am guessing Video Games will have a nice month this month with Street Fighter IV.
  5. You didn't even like the original Tomb Raider? For its time it gave a crazy amount of freedom.....and allowed you to gun down small animals.
  6. That might actually be easy. Isn't there a flip side to the mat that was suppose to be used for exercise and yoga? Or have I totally lost what was left of my mind? I really wish they would bring back the power glove and that ring thing they had for fighting games. Did anyone own that? I remember it was a ring you set on the floor and using "high tech lasers" it would figure out if you were punching or kick (as well as the direction) and make your character do that.
  7. Wow..Simply wow. In this economy they are giving up 120 million for a brand that Angelina Jolie managed to destroy in TR2? I remember the good old days of the original Tomb Raider. Where one could jump sideways right into a wolf/bear/aligator that you didn't even see. I can not for the life of me see this as a good move. Am I missing something?
  8. Raving Rabbits can be a lot of fun. I think the drawing food game is one of the hardest out there. Wait until you make it to the end of a level and get to shoot them with plungers. Overall I think the original Raving Rabbits was a lot of fun. As for Ogami...you will either love it or hate it. I found it took a little while to get use to the controlls and games. It is a very pretty game, so if that is the kind of thing you are looking for it will have an added bonuses for you. Like stated above, you might want to give the Lego games a shot. Lots of people enjoy that series.
  9. I always found it hilarious that a company known to postpone and delay would name themselves after a natural disaster that causes everything to be postponed and delayed. Whenever Blizzard says " its done when its done" it will either be strung out for years waiting for some new revolutionary hardware change (so it can be the first big game on that hardware) or it will rush it out as fast as possible without really debugging it. I seriously wouldn't hold my breath for Starcraft OR Diablo III. As for a WoW upgrade...didn't they postpone Lich King for almost an entire year? and that was just a chapter...not even a full game. Thanks Blizzard...see you in 2011
  10. This coming from the guy who posts a link to a duck/sextoy. Great. I am by far worse off then I thought.
  11. Allright, I don't want to get the reputation as "that guy" but I could not help but share with everyone (over the age of 18...I am very serious this time) this month's sign that the Apocalypse is upon us. Apparently not EVERY area of gaming had been explored as this .... well I don't know if this person would be considered smart or not ... person found something I had never seen before (and hopefully never see again). FOLLOW THIS LINK AT YOUR OWN RISK AS IT IS ADULT ORIENTED. http://www.asylum.com/2009/02/10/video-gam...e-masturbation/ I would love to see someone beat Galaga with THAT controller.
  12. http://the-minusworld.com/2008/12/29/the-t...power-magazine/ The above link is pretty funny and contains the Top 10 Most Disturbing Illustrations from Nintendo Power. Be careful as you are warned there are sexual immuendo and "bad" language in the captions. You are warned.
  13. That really depends. 1) Jenga - Well, its jenga...so if you could see yourself playing Jenga against a computer using the Wii mote then it is probably worth something, else not really. Avg score of about 1.5ish from review websites 2) Ninjabread man - Quite possibly one of the worse Wii games out there. I mean seriously. I would consider it a negative to any collection...and I own some pretty bad games. Average review score of 1.5 (painfully high for this game) 3) Balls of Fury - The movie was kind of funny. Christopher Walken normally is. But the game..not so funny. I believe it has an average score of like 1.3 from review websites. In the end it is your choice...but at $45 it might be better to save a few extra dollars and get one good game...or if you go by review score, one mediocre game (total score for the 3 games is about 4.6 combined).
  14. Doing my part to keep the forum members happy by hammering them weapons. You know. I figured no one could steal your gill if I had you offed at the time
  15. LoL. I have one of those at home. One in gold and the other in Silver. Although the silver is more flimsy then the Gold one. I think those were given away when you renewed your subscription. Granted...I don't still have mine on the cardboard because I was a total dork and wore it for a while.
  16. I just tried it. Seems to be back to normal ... it still only gives me +2 hp and +3 strength with a level up. I don't know how the plus to health and strength can be random if I never get over +5 on either of them.
  17. Well, I finished the magazine in PDF format. I think overall it seemed pretty good. I just don't think I like the way they jumped around in time periods. I almost wish they would start off with the oldest stuff and work towards some of the newer. What did everyone else think?
  18. My collection consists of games that I like, you can try some out. Super Paper Mario (which you said you didn't like ) Mario Galaxy Legend of Zelda TP Super Smash Brothers Wii Sports (pack in) Wii Play (Bought it for the extra controller but there are a couple games in there that are nice) Wario WiiWare (fun collection of random stuff) If you like games in short bursts it is pretty fun Animal Crossing CF (it is an acquired taste) Mario Kart Wii (fun for families or groups) Mario Party Wii (same as above) Tiger Woods 09 All Play (the "All Play" feature makes the game so rediculously easy you will be scoring under par on every hole within 10 minutes). Super Monkey Ball (again an acquired taste but on the Wii it has a huge selection of Mini games to go with the normal) You should give some of those a try. If you find out exactly what kind of games you like we could probably help you a little more.
  19. Ugh. The topic "Link Mistake" made me believe it was one of Phillyman's funny stories about playing through The Legend of Zelda. Imagine my suprise when I got here to find out it was just an actual broken link... Anyway, thanks for pointing it out.
  20. Yeah, I will say it again, if Yu-Gi-Oh would have jumped on this idea and created special Yu-Gi-Oh online cards (with the bar code) They could have released the entire set again and people would have bought them....just to finally play online.
  21. It was definitely better then I thought it would be, but my expectations were so low. I did like Tom Cruises' part. He played it perfectly. I just don't think the movie was up to Naked Gun standards
  22. EGM 8 Everyone is dieing to find out how the Turbografix-16 shapes up against the Genesis. My money is on the Genesis... For future reference it would be nice if you wrote in the text which mags they are. I have a lot of my images turned off on the work computer (some wierd firewall protection). Luckily I know how to turn it off. It would just be easier if you wrote out what they were as well.
  23. I seriously don't want in on any of the drama, and I could have skipped over the answer to this in the process of drama avoidance, but wouldn't it be a good idea to keep the "to be deleted" scans on a hard drive somewhere? I mean it won't be to long until that stuff IS considered retro (as scary and old as that makes me feel). Seem silly to have all of the scans and just delete them. Might as well let members contribute new stuff with the knowledge that it won't be used until it fits the requirements and becomes "retro". That way you get a little ahead of the game. Just an idea.
  24. Tell me if you can find the clips where they run through the maze of games at the end dressed in a Velcro outfit...I had dreams about getting to do that when I was little...and I want to see if it is as difficult now as it looked like then.
