  1. That is a purchase I think we need to set up a 1st Annual Excitebots Retromags Tourney. I am sure Philly would be willing to throw in a year of Premium (or even a special forum title) for the winner. We should definently do more online tourneys and such
  2. I know Russian Attack is probably one of the really well known ones. How about Karnov? That was a well above average platformer for the NES. Probably not as good as Clash at Demon Head but definitely less known then games like Slalom.
  3. Awesome job guys. It is always a nice feeling to read something like that for the first time. Not to mention to know that it won't be lost forever.
  4. Check the disc VERY carefully. I had something similar happen on my Trauma Center (Hey there weren't many games out at release and it SOUNDED cool). The problem ended up being a very thin scratch on the cd. The wii kept trying to read ahead and would find the scratch then try again...and again...and again... Sometimes my actions would interfere with the Wii trying to work out what was missing from the scratch and would cause a slight pause. I don't know if it is exactly your problem but it sounds very similar. If you have a cd cleaner / repair try running it through and see if that fixes the problem. I rented BB once and I didn't seem to have/notice those problems Hope it works for you.
  5. LoL I LOVED Clash at Demonhead when I was young. I use to play the heck out of that game. I don't know what it is about it that kept drawing me in but it did. Maybe it was the massive amount of choices you could make to decide how you got where and what levels you plated, etc. That just brought back a lot of memories.

    Hdtv Help...

along with jamming the other controller into the cartridge port in order to hold the bar down just right. and apparently back on topic, I am getting the LCD version of the same TV you are getting...so I guess it is about as good as plasmas get right now. I know mine has the game function (but again it is the american version)

    Hdtv Help...

Okay....I am looking into getting a new tv as well and have done TONS of research... I am personaly going with Panasonic VIERA 37" 1080p LCD HDTV Sadly the wife doesn't want me to get anything bigger due to size requirements of the room. She is probably right that anything bigger would just look akward in the room. Please realize that these are important things (how the room looks to company) once you get married... No matter how much you want the 50inch tv. Anyway...I digress. I chose LCD over Plasma because I want the TV to last for at least 8 years. Plasma has to be refilled to keep the top notch quality about every 4 years. That is going to be about 1k to refill. Now as for the European vs American functions can't you just order from an international shipper like Newegg and get the American model? I don't know why it wouldn't work overseas...I mean cable is cable right? The current Panasonic VIERAs are getting awesome reviews from everywhere...including consumer reports, CNET, and regular people. If you get the size over 40 inches you can get it in 120 hz which will reduce the blur on everything, including gaming, like crazy. As of yet I have not found any TV that will cancel out ALL of the blur from my NES...I just don't think it was designed to handle it.
  8. I don't think Wario Woods counts. Wasn't it a special give away gift in Animal Crossing for the N64? I think once a game has achieved status of being given away with the likes of Excitebike, Punch out, and Super Mario Bros. it no longer qualifies as a not well known game Sorry to steal your thunder on that one Meppi.
  9. I do not know of what you speak...I pre-ordered that at Gamestop directly after reading your post.

    Not Cool!

Man, I hate that. People like that deserve to be beaten in public outside of the building....perhaps while on fire. I take a harsh approach to it because when I was in law school I lived on the 18th floor of a building. At LEAST 3 times a year (normally when it was raining outside) some idiot would pull the fire alarm at 2AM. So I would have to walk down all 18 flights of stairs out into the rain and wait the required 45 minutes (at least) for the FD to clear the building. THEN have to walk up all 18 flights of stairs and try to get some sleep before having to go to class. So I feel your pain.
  11. Technically that would be the original cannon. Everything else would have to be retcon. Think of it as the original Superman story. Superman has had several retcons which rewrite his history. Heck, DC rewrites their universe every so often. What you see in the Sonic Bible is the original cannon and how it went through several revisions to get to its final form. I always like the handwritten comments on things like this. I just picture a very serious conversation about why Sonic's shoes should be red and how he got the shoes. Let alone that they can withstand him running at the speed of light. The whole time not worrying about the fact that he is a 3 foot hedgehog....
  12. ZOMG he has a virtua boy..too bad it doesn't say what games he had for it. I am still looking for like 3 of them.
  13. WTB complete list of games for auction ...
  14. Yeah. The hardest part about the controllers is getting use to the whole Ultra/Supers (both the repeated button presses and the multiple buttons at the same time). I normally have to change my hand position to get the ultra out on a controller...which is sad because it kinda telegraphs it for torunaments. When I play online it doesn't matter, except for my wife making fun of me. I really wish you and some others here could just go out and get the PS3 we could have a retromags tourney.
  15. Good luck. Too bad you don't have the PS3 version. I would toughen you up for t he tourney. I will admit though, it takes about 4 hours of solid play to get use to the stupid controller. I didn't think it was going to be a big deal until I tried to do the training mode and saw how often the controller would screw up motions like "High punch" into Dragon punch into EX focus. I had to do it like 11 times before it finally registered right. My Abel and even my M.Bison (Dictator) were messing people up last night online. I even managed to win a few with Vega and /sigh Dan ( I was using random...okay...)
  16. Oh the days. Sadly I never completed all 12 Cards.
  17. I think I might still have the bottle. What I would LOVE to see come back is the Super Mario / Zelda Nintendo Cereal. NIN-TEN-DO...It's for breakfast now! NIN-TEN-DO...It's a cereal...WOW~! Half the box was Mario (Fruity) and the other half was Zelda (Berry) I miss that stuff....that and a good box of BooBerry.
  18. LoL. I think those are awesome. Not to mention they aren't insanly expensive too. I wouldn't mind one of those shaped like an old school NES where you can hit the button and actually dispense stuff.
  19. I am still not adjusted to the PS3 controller so I only really do player matches. I know it will be forever or until I find someone I can trust before I get the 10 rank wins in a row. My biggest problem is doing a special move into an ultra. For some reason, especialy with the Shotos I get a fireball into a dragon punch instead of fireball into ultra fireball.
  20. Trust me..after the 75th person who jumps in on you when Seth or your rival has like 2% health you will turn that feature off while you unlock stuff. I did that and unlocked all the characters in like 30 minutes...maybe a little more.
  21. I have a feeling (and I know so for my case) that most of us probably have a habit of coming off a little dorky. I mean our fearless leader apparently stores a ton of game mags at work. I really doubt that looking dorky for having a Capcom credit card is really that big of a deal for most of us. Even if they won't admit that out loud Anyway, it does look like there are some awesome "rewards" too bad they probably require that you spend a small fortune to even have a shot at them.
  22. Actually a pretty good idea although I can't help but wonder if the original DS is going to drop in price when the new one comes out. I had the first run breadbox sized DS. The hinges on those things are horrible. Especially when compared to the new DS. Speaking of which, when looking for my charger for my wife's DS, I found 2 original GameBoys. The ones that came in a whopping 2 shades of black and weighed in at about 12 pounds. I am suprised I don't have wrist problems after those bad boys. Why did I have two? Well so I could play Tetris and Revenge of the Gator Pinball against my family.
  23. Yeah, if it supported GBA games I would have to make that an insta buy (I dropped my DS (original run) and the hinge smashed completly). Sadly if I get the new DSi I can not transfer my Emerald Pokemon to Pokemon Platinum. How is that a good idea? Man. $169.00 is still pretty expensive. Maybe I can talk my wife into getting it and I can use it after she buys it.
  24. I finally managed to talk the owner of the local blockbuster into breaking the "street date" just for me. Because it took so long (and I think my wife and I keep that store in buisness) I didn't get to play too long. Hopefully tonight I will have a chance to give it a fair shot (after LOST...the wife always steals my TV for that). Meppi - From what I have played, this is about as serious as a 2D fighter gets. I am not sure if I like the feature where you can play the arcade 1p game and let people jump in for VS matches (Just like would happen in the arcade) because it seems that people always come in when the CPU has like 2% health ....when I am done with VS I have to start that match all over. Thor - I am jealous. I really wish I could hear that Soundtrack...that was the only real bonus I was looking forward to. Do you want to set a time later tonight or tomorrow and do the 10 ranked matches in a row for each of us? That is for one of the hard trophys as well as a Playstation HOME item....or are you a traitor and bought the Xbox360 version?
