  1. I forgot how decent this game was- I might just pick it up at the flea market this weekend.
  2. They really dropped the ball on converting 2D platformers to 3D. That environment is so ugly!
  3. The scene where you stuff the human in the grinder is a motion scene with the actual in-game character models instead of a clip, no? That could be a reason why that part wasn't cut, it would take too much work. Whereas with a video clip, you can edit/redo/cut pieces of it out completely.
  4. I remember the Sega Channel. Similar idea to X-Band, and something I also never had. I think instead it was more of a subscription service with downloadable/playable online games.
  5. I still from time to time hear the word Bullshit played in a Pink Floyd song on the radio. I think there's also a different song with the word "fuck", nearly inaudible, but still played as well. Guess the censors just don't pick it up. I have an extensive 80s playlist on my iPod which is gathered from 4 or 5 different 80s compilation CDs. I love that stuff, even though I barely grew up with it, being born in 84 and hardly listening to radio or MTV at the time. I just got on a huge 80s kick after hearing a lot of it in high school on VH1 Classic here in the states. I also have a large 90s collection, but it's a little more eclectic and doesn't get played nearly as much.
  6. No one here would ask money for any scan, or take money for it. Besides, that's probably illegal. Most scanners that get requests seem to do them once they have the time to get around to it, as it takes time and hard work to scan and edit these magazines.
  7. oh this is an awesome post! thanks for sharing it
  8. An awkward accidental punch to the face. Anyone have the new MK? Thoughts? Anyone wanna play?
  9. To me, Nintendo is pressing more era-appropriate consoles than the other companies, who are basically stuck in the old rut. I mean, touch screens, motion controls, 3D visuals and creative titles say "2011" to me than just the same old format controllers and only updated graphics. Nintendo could use a better online experince this time around, but other than that I think they'll keep pushing innovative, imaginitive consoles and I can't wait to see what's next. I only hope they get more real companies on board to create good titles and move away from all the shovelware. I most likely will be done buying consoles with this generation, but if Nintendo can do something that amazes me, I might just bite.
  10. We're glad you guys decided to join. It's always nice to see some fresh "faces" and conversation!
  11. I would love to have this just for the looks.. but it's a little pricey!
  12. Well I'm glad someone finally stepped up to lead the spider! It was starting to worry me.. I also like that his name is Partick and not Patrick. I suppose I'll add my two cents: 1. EarthBound 2. EVO - Search for Eden 3. Legend of the Mystical Ninja 4. Joe & Mac 5. Jurassic Park 6. MegaMan X2 7. Donkey Kong Country 8. Metal Max Returns(not released in USA, but great) 9. Pilotwings 10. Super Double Dragon No particular order, and I skipped the more oft-heard of titles. This is more of an off-beat list for me. I'm sure anyone would say Super Mario World, LttP, Final Fantasy III, etc. so I decided to pass on them this time around. Besides, these are the games I end up popping in for something fresh when it's SNES time.
  13. Props to Jake for listing Lolo 3.
  14. The order is subject to change, but these are usually my go-to PSX games when I need a fix: 1. Skullmonkeys 2. Metal Gear Solid 3. Castlevania: SOTN 4. Final Fantasy Tactics(or IX) 5. Resident Evil 2 6. Abe's Oddysee(or Exxodus) 7. PaRappa the Rapper 8. Chrono Cross 9. Intelligence Qube 10. Gran Turismo 2 Some of them are interchangeable with sequels or counterparts. =x Otherwords, I just couldn't leave them off the list.
  15. I'll probably wait for Kid Icarus if I do get one. Seems like I usually wait until the handheld systems have been out a while before I pick them up, though. I always wanted a DS when it launched, but decided to wait because I just didn't like how it looked. Then they ended up coming out with the DS Lite and I was bent on getting one. The 3DS looks good from the getgo, but I might wait to see if any flaws exist and if they change anything about it. Also, price drops happen after a while. I think Kid Icarus Uprising and Star Fox 64 3D come out on May 6th. We'll see how I feel by then..
  16. Hate to rain on the parade but we're not supposed to link to emulation/rom sites from this site. It could impact our credability. If we could get an okay directly from the scanner to host the files here, though, it would be a different story and we could upload them here. Hopefully you have the link by now, because I'll have to take it down. I myself use the site you linked to, as well, but we can't have it linked to from Retromags. Thanks for your cooperation and contribution to the site. I hope this won't deter you from posting further because we all enjoy your topics and conversation. Also, it's probably okay to PM these type things to each other, but not to post it in topics. Have fun!
  17. 3 posts, no contributions, and implied swearing in a topic heading? Consider any requests ignored in my book. Learn some manners or at least some courtesy.
  18. Thanks. I'd considered some of these options before but it's nice to have them laid out in one place. I also didn't think of some that you did.
  19. It sounds as though in real life the actual book was as rare to come across as it was in the story. Of course, again you've got me interested as all hell and I'll be off to scour my local libraries and book dungeons..
  20. I don't know, I've always known I'd want to keep playing the games I love so I never really took a plunge like that. I know I'd regret the heck out of it if I had. =/ I did lose a lot of toys and board games I liked though. My mom tended to get rid of them after a while because they'd just be taking up space. Now I have a daughter and I'm working on letting some back to share with her. Of course, it doesn't hurt to relive some of my memories, either. ;P
  21. That's what I thought, I do have model 2. It's held up really well, even if I hadn't really put it to use until about 4 years ago. I wish I had some sort of s-video cable for my Genesis. I don't like how unclear it is on my big HDTV. I'm debating on buying one for my Saturn, as I just got a 3D analog controller for it and I'm itching to play NiGHTs with it.. E-Day, this topic is pushing me closer and closer to breaking mine out.. I just dread the cleanup.
  22. Whichever is the one that connects via the side port on the Gen 1 and 2 and uses a little metal slat to do so. I want a gen 1 Genesis with the headphone jack again, I loved that thing. I have two 2nd gen. No way I'd ever get rid of my SCD though. I had wanted it since I first heard of it and finally got it around 6th grade(1996-97 for me) when I found it clearanced at Kay*Bee toys for $30. Good memories.. It did take forever to get the few games I wanted for it though.
  23. I see what you're getting at now. It would possibly be useful, but can you use that to keep track of files hosted on MegaUpload?
  24. I love MAME. Thing is, this isn't an emulation site. I think you might have posted this in the wrong forum, eadmaster. All we do here is scan magazines.
